Lillard was drafted 3 yrs after Blake.

He has only played 57 fewer games than Griffin. If you're ready for 55 game seasons while paying him 38 mil a year, go for it.

I ain't giving up CJ for that without getting picks or young players back

It only matters what their GM thinks but almost every Piston fan wants to get rid of Jackson and Drummond but keep Griffin.

Bullock would be a good target regardless of anything. He fits into the Vonleh TPE and profiles well with Dame and CJ. Pistons also have some younger guys they could give more minutes to.

You realize you’re not getting someone without flaws for CJ, right? Were not giving up an all star here.

He would be an allstar in the east

This has been thrown around but I’m coming around to it. CJ for Aaron Gordon. Orlando would have to add something else, but financially it’s pretty even. Gordon is owed roughly $54m after this season while CJ is owed roughly $56m.

CJ is exactly what Orlando needs and there’d be no one else he’d have to differ to. It’d be his team. They’re also not a free agent destination so their best bet to land an impact scorer is through trade. Gordon isn’t the scorer CJ is but he gives us someone that can contribute on both ends and profiles well with Nurk and Collins. Orlando could have a front court of Vucevic, Bamba, and Isaac, making Gordon expendable.

How about CJ and Wade for Gordon and Simmons

I proposed Gordon a few months back. Gordon and Fournier (Ross would be a lot cheaper) would be ideal. Give em CJ/Aminu/Simons.

Sure. Simmons only has a million guaranteed next year.

There are also trades there for us with Orlando that doesn’t include CJ. Ross would really help our second unit, and is an expiring. Prime candidate for a Leonard/pick package.

Kyle Lowry, Khris Middleton, Victor Oladipo, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Bradley Beal, John Wall

5 guards in all-star game and there's 10 on that list, all arguably better than CJ, most by quite a bit.

you can try and slide Butler and/or Tatum and Middleton to SF....but Giannis and Kawhi are already taking 2 of those slots

CJ would NOT be anything close to an automatic all-star in the east.

Next up is the Chicago Bulls. Yet another poor fit trade wise for CJ unless we're talking salary dump (which I want to clearly state I am not advocating). The only real thing to consider would be if they were willing to take both Turner and Leonard with CJ but then it gets messy with roster spots. I would love to get their 1st round pick but right now it's 4th so I seriously doubt they'd give that up for CJ. However this is the best I can come up with for the Bulls:

Bulls get CJ, Turner, Leonard, Swanigan, and Stauskas

Blazers get Jabari Parker, Robin Lopez, Justin Holiday, Kris Dunn, Bobby Portis, and Chandler Hutchison (or Denzel Valentine)

This trade would save the Blazers $10 million this year dropping them well below the tax line. Parker (Team Option), Lopez (Bird Rights), Holiday, and Portis (RFA Bird Rights) are all expiring. Portis could be retained and it gives us two young assets in Dunn and Hutchison (or Valentine) for the future. This would put our total guaranteed salary for next year down to $73,891,602 with Dame, Nurk, Harkless, Collins, Simons, Trent, Dunn, and Hutchison plus our 1st round pick. Re-sign Portis and then fill out the roster by going hard after secondary free agents while other teams chase the big names (Middleton, Tobias, Tyreke, JJ Redick?). Once again please don't tell me about how Portland doesn't get free agents, I know the drill. This is super crazy but would have a very slim chance of working out into something really good.

The only big name free agent I think we'd have a chance at landing this summer is DeMarcus Cousins.

Yeah, which wouldn't make a whole lot of sense with Nurk and their agent being the same. I just have a funny feeling this summer is going to be different than most with so much of the league being free agents. Only the Lakers, 76ers, Pacers, and Clippers would be really good teams with potentially more cap space but for some of those teams to get that cap space they have to let guys like Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris go. I could of course be dead wrong but having cap space could open up taking on guys from teams that are trying to get more cap space or are changing direction like an Otto Porter, Bradley Beal, Gordon Hayward, or Blake Griffin type in a lopsided trade.

Meh, I think theres be a workaround with trading Nurkic since he got his contract already. His agent got his cut now.

Of course wed likely have to trade CJ but if we could get Brogdon and Hill for CJ like I said then use picks to shed ET/Meyers, then I think we'd be in business.
