I’m somewhat joking. Also a little disturbed because Rui is an under the radar, young, versatile scorer that a lot of people are sleeping on. I’m a little bugged we can’t land a steal of a trade like that. He’s a dynamic offensive player and would immediately, significantly upgrade our bench and was had for penny’s on the dollar
You can probably count the number of 4 team trades on one hand in the history of the NBA. It's not even worth putting in the effort, dude.
Sorry. I didn't say but the Toronto trade would be after a three team deal with Orlando and Miami. There is a way to make the deals with Orlando and Miami separate but it would mean not getting Suggs, keeping Keon and probably sending Miami an additional second rounder and taking back a player or players of Orlando's choosing that make 3.6-5M.
Also, this is just my ideal situation and while I think the values being exchanged are fair and realistic the likelihood that I call a shot with this many moving parts is so close to zero, we can call it zero. So without being specific I want the team to trade Josh for a guaranteed 2023 FRP. I then want the team to guarantee our 2023 FRP to Chicago. I want us to use as much draft capital as it takes along with whatever combo of players it takes that aren't Dame, Jerami and Shae to land a second all-star/all nba level player, preferably a forward. I would like us to use whatever draft capital we have left to acquire a serviceable starting big that would fit in Chaundey's system (I think Bamba is the most available). If the trade for the star player includes sending Ant out then one of the moves should bring in a competent backup PG.
Yeah, obviously with all of the moving pieces this exact deal won't be happening but I didn't intend for it to be one deal and I would imagine even if it culminated as one deal officially the deal with each team would be knocked out one at a time.
Why couldn’t we have scrapped together a better trade for Brogdon? I love that dudes game. Surely we could’ve offered more
B/R....is that Bleacher Report? It doesn't surprise me as I didn't believe Chris Haynes, for a second, that Cronin was holding Ant untouchable. Dame is going nowhere and Grant + Sharpe are the only 2 other players who should be 'un-shopped'. Even then, due diligence would dictate listening to offers on them as for the Chicago pick, I don't think that's as easy a solve as you do. To start with, even though you don't see the reasons, Chicago might not be very cooperative. But more importantly, the Blazers are currently in a 5-way tie for 6th position in the lottery, based on wins. Blazers would be idiots to trade away a potential top 6 draft pick and the chances it could be a top-3 pick with lottery luck. Unless there's a major change in fortunes in the next 10 days or a complete no-brainer trade on the table, I don't think Portland would even make the offer to Chicago
I just saw this: Austin Rivers on Jaden McDaniels: “Jaden’s gotta be on an (all-)defensive team. He guards some of the best players better than anybody in the NBA. The fact that he is able to move his feet at his size, with his length, is impressive, man." (shoots 38% on threes) Simons and Hart for McDaniels, Russel and Naz Reid. Russel is 6'4" and although this is from a year ago: "We’re halfway through the season, and D’Angelo Russell’s defense is still at an all-time career high. Sitting at a 102.7 defensive rating or DRTG, DLo is ranked 25th in the league in DRTG and first on this Minnesota Timberwolves roster." Not sure how he fits except as a sixth man and would lose him at the end of the season, (same as Hart?) So it's basically a top defensive forward and a really good backup C for Simons. (Actually Reid is expiring also so might lose him....) If Hart said he wanted to re-sign here, then would try to get them to take Payton and Winston or Little instead.
They might like Little better than Hart, the way Little is looking lately and he is tied up for a few years. That might be a fairer trade. BTW, Russel ended last year wth DRTG of 115 so he must have really slid over the last half of the season.
The trade with Hart works but just saying we'd give them Nas instead of Hart completely ignores matching salaries.
If we trade Sharpe for anything less than a Superstar it might be the final straw that breaks the back of my 46 years of fandom and I'm not even kidding. That would be the dumbest fucking move imaginable.
Nothing could break my support for our team but I would be livid. I would be posting Fire Cronin just as much as I used to post Fire Olshey. It would be fucking awful.
You might have missed this: "If Hart said he wanted to re-sign here, then would try to get them to take Payton and Winston or Little instead."
