Maybe Skip can do what TMac did...listen to all the critcism of how he is selfish and jacks up crazy shots...Then do what TMac did and prove everyone wrong and becomes everything the Rockets could hope for.

I think its unfair to judge Skip by his performance on a bad team...just like JVG said, he dismisses Skip's numbers and play on Toronto, and watched a lot of film on him and loved what he saw...they love his passing, energy, and unselfishness...this is what the team is saying...

Wow...the homework level stopped me from checking the site, but rafer alston does have his upside on mike james but also the negative. For example, he is no spark off the bench but rafer does have excellent court vision.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">Um, you've been saying that about out-of-town Rockets fans all along. Just a taste of your own medicine, that's all. Well, so have you seen him play more than 10 times? I don't think you get a lot of Raptors and 03-04 Heat games on American TV. [IMG].</div>
I actually have a package called a "league pass" where I get all the NBA games. I've stated this before, but it seems like you ignored it. I've followed Skip pretty closely since he came in the league, so to answer your question, yes I've seen him play quite a bit. Any other questions?

Skip is a very athletic, good ball handler that can hit the 3, penetrate, and pass. He is very passionate, and wants to win.

He has a lot more potential than Mike James, and his salary is relatively cheap for a starting pointguard.

If the situation is right for Rafer, then the Rockets got a major bargain.

The way you sound like, you're following every player closely. So much that you don't know who Dan Gadzuric is...[IMG]

And yes, I do have another question. Why didn't you respond to the other part of my post? Did you get [IMG]?

In Miami, Alston shot 37.1% from the field, and had 4.5 assists per game. He averaged 9.3 shots per game to get 10.2 points per game. This season, Sura took 8.2 shots per game to average 10.3 points per game. Alston was not an efficient scorer that season. Alston also averaged 2.2 shots per assist, while Sura this season has an average of 1.6 shots per assist. With the Heat, Alston was not a "pure" point.</div>

Just have to say that I've been calling for this move since before trading opened. I never really went for James you know? I like Skip. I think that, like T-Mac, he will thrive with a second chance under JVG. I don't need to be told that I'm wrong, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion let's just not second guess this guy. Wait 'till Tuesday, see if he plays, and then go from there. It's all about results. Rafer deserves a chance to show what he's got.

Rockets fans are going to love Skip...His character got unfairly attacked in Toronto, and I do believe it was a poor situation...I mean, Toronto is not the most professional organization...their GM admits they suck, and Carter wanted out...so its not like Rafer was complaining just for the heck of it...hes an upbeat guy who loves to pass and set up teammates...JVG loved what he saw of him on film, and thats all I need to know to know that it was a good move...

I agree 100%. If JVG likes his play and thinks it can fit in his own team (who knows the Rockets better than JVG) than I am sure he will do well here in Houston. People make a BIIIGGGGG deal about Rafer blowing off some steam in Toronto. He is going to come to Houston with something to prove, watch.

If Sura never got injured, we would not have made this trade right? I am not sure where I read it, but it was on this forum. Either CD, JVG, or both said that. What I still do not understand is...Why wouldn't we have made this trade. Is it the playing time? Couldn't we have let each one have 24 min? Rafer is an upgraded Mike James I guess. I just don't understand this.

If the trade opportunity was available for Rafer, go for it. Would this have made Sura/Head feel bad or something?

errr, im going to bed, i cant even get out what i am trying to say.

I'm curious but, did Skip cause any trouble in Miami? If not then critics shouldn't blame him for his actions in Toronto. Now if he was stiring up commotions in Miami as well, than you can say he was breaking up chemistry from season to season and doesn't matter what team. But from what I here, he loved to played with Stan Van Gundy.

Lol......You guys try so hard to prove me wrong, all I can do is laugh. No, I can't possibly follow every single player closely. What I can do is follow the more important players, and make my conclusion off that. Try again........

Not bad, since Sura is going to be injured for most of the season then I think its a good trade

I think a Mike James, Head looks way worser than Rafer Alston, and Head string at the PG.

Also this is a good move because talent sorrounds him and I am sure his assisting will go up a lot now because of that.

It seems like you are the one trying to start games...

Its because you usually mock other people, and your opinion often times seems highly biased and uninformed.
    <u>
    On a side note.</u>
Oh and Rafer didn't have any incidents in Miami and played excellent basketball under SVG. He said that he loved playing for SVG, and when Sura comes back Rafer might be best as a super spark off the bench. He does have to improve his defense and tone his shot selection down a tad, but he is a very skilled player. When its his night he can do anything and everything well.

Despite the positives being said about him, you can't deny he's emotionally unstable(read below). Is he gonna clash with rockets players and JVG?
    <u>Last Season</u>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Nobody could have been looking forward to another season -- let alone five more -- of Alston's emotional volatility, especially on a team that is more than likely to struggle."

"A month into the 2004-05 season, after he was benched for taking a technical foul during a game in Boston, Alston threatened to retire, a bizarre statement given he had just signed a six-year, $28-million deal. That was the first red flag Alston was going to be a disruptive force."

"But, more important, he's(James) not Alston, who last season threatened to quit after a clash with Mitchell in December, was suspended for two games a bit later after storming out of practice in a snit, had to be escorted from Cleveland's arena by security guards after a locker-room confrontation and was in an open feud with Jalen Rose late in the season."</div>

Suspensions, clash with player (Rose), clash with coach: Mitchell and 6 yr contract: How's this gna help rocket's championship run?? There's more trouble in the link: http://torontosun.com/Sports/Basketball/20...249154-sun.html

Well, he wasn't a troublemaker in Miami, so it could just be the Raptor organization that he had issues with.
