While true, I think it also points to the fact that we'll always have an undersized backcourt that gets abused as long as CJ starts. Scoring, hot-shooting, decent-sized point guards are pretty much the hottest thing in the league, and we happen to be sitting on an extra one. I'm crossing my fingers that the volatile situation in Sactown goes nuclear and they give up on Cousins. CJ is everything Cousins isn't--not just in terms of size/skillset, but also personality. If you want to re-build the character of a franchise he's a perfect cornerstone for that. Sactown is neck deep in bullshit, and CJ is a pretty attractive stepladder. Even seems like CJ could play pretty well off the ball with Rondo, given that Rondo could take on the tougher defensive assignment.
Boogie looks like a transcendent talent when his head is screwed on straight. Just unfortunate that it rarely is. I think a change of scenery and getting behind Dame as his leader will do him a world of good.
Boogie's a competitor, he wants to win. From the few interactions I've seen between he & Lillard, it definitely looks like Cousins respects him, I think Boogie would flourish/ACTUALLY be happy here
I think we've got a shot. We could offer them whatever pick/position we get from this yr. AND involve another team(s) that will most definitely have a high pick (so far as a known i.e. Phi. & Brooklyn) & then of course add Meyers, Cj & filler; I'm not giving up/giving any1 Vonleh though (he's young, got such a high ceiling, he's got a good contract + cheap, etc.).
Cousins is always going to be a loose cannon, IMO, so I'm not a fan of bringing him here. I also think that Sac will keep trying to placate him with whatever coach he wants rather than moving him. As far as CJ goes, I still think that once Henderson is fully healthy, Stotts will move him into the starting lineup and use CJ in the 6th man role ala Jason Terry.
CJ got absolutely destroyed by Reggie Jackson the other night. I was watching the highlights, and it seemed like Dame wasn't giving 100% on defense, but CJ was just getting abused and he was actually trying. Jackson destroyed him.
I really doubt they bench CJ. I think he's being showcased right now as trade bait. You let him get as much hype as possible so he can be part of a massive deal that balances out our roster better. Teams need to see him as The Next Damian Lillard, not The Next Jamal Crawford.
Yup. While some people would like to add Cousins, I would looooove to go after Paul George. Offer something like CJ, Vonleh, Plumlee. Still make the move for Bropez. Dame/Frazier Hendo/Crabbe George/Harkless Aminu/Alexander Bropez/Davis That's still a pretty deep team, and one that could compete in the west.
You're disrespectful because you dismiss somebody out of ignorance and then double down when people bring it to your attention ... or something like that?
"90% of everything is crap" -- Theodore Sturgeon ...including 90% of the 10% that isn't crap. I love that quote.
I dismissed him because there's no buzz anywhere, because the timing is off and it can't even go through for a month, and because we can't trade a first for another 3 years. But chalk it up to ignorance, even though you're the one being ignorant and not reading my posts which explained why.
How can they not? Dame & CJ are killing it right now. They seem perfect for each other. Dame drafted CJ, if you listen to the interviews about it.
