He’s a great defender but not a rim protector. You don’t want him at the 5

Have you seen Eubanks chase around guards after Chauncey asks him to switch P&Rs? Would look much better if JV was doing that.

We had Winslow playing backup C on occasion. Not sure why people think Vando can't do that.

We can bring him in for Winslow 1 for 1. Just need to move GB out in a dump as well and we'd be below the tax

I quote, "I like the idea of him playing backup C" and laugh. You ask what's funny. I say probably the sentence I quoted when I laughed. You take that to mean I don't know anything about Vanderbilt. Okay, that makes perfect, rational sense...

We need size. So it makes sense that fans would want to bring in a 6'8'' guy as backup center who looks undersized against most power forwards. I found that funny. Sorry. Nothing personal. I'm not GM so you have nothing to worry about. Hopefully we can get even smaller at the trade deadline for you.

Trading a 6'6 winslow for a 6'8 vando is "getting smaller?"

Have a look at Vanderbilts rebounding numbers while youre at it.

I didn't know Winslow was our backup center.

At the moment, with Nurk injured, Trendon Watford is our backup center. But Vanderbilt certainly plays bigger than Watford does.

Arguing that he plays bigger than Watford doesn't mean we need to trade for him so he can play backup center. We need size even more with Nurk out.

I'm done arguing about something so stupid, you all have fun.

I believe the reason Nurk is sitting is sure he is hurt but I believe the Blazers are going out of there way to find a taker for him and last thing they want in Nurk really getting hurt and killing any trade they might get for him. I would not be surprised after the deadline passes and no matter if he is still a Blazer or not we will hear at some point that both sides agreed maybe time to part ways and Nurk will be traded in the summer if not traded in the next couple days.

Rather winslow than watford/eubans switching onto guards.

Our coach insists on this being the strategy.

JV would thrive in that role for 10-15 mpg

We could use some Vandolorian in Portland. This is the way.

If we could swap Hart for DFS in this Kyrie deal, i would call that a win.

The BK-DAL deal still not finalized apparently.

Its been reported that we wanted to pursue DFS last yr before he got extended by the Mavs.

I agree eubanks and watford are not ideal doing what they’re doing.

but cleaning the glass’s numbers for vando when he’s at the 5 are pretty grim. He’s not a shooter or a rim protector, which makes him hard to fit unless he has a rim protector next to him and tons of shooters everywhere else.

He's a better Watford. His passing numbers make him a good fit offensively as the short roll creator. But ultimately, he should be a bench player.
