Trying to obtain Manny Machado would be foolish, imo. Manny's a Bor-ass client. He's going to be asking for a 10 yr 300 Mil contract; he made but 11.5 Mil last yr. A one year rental, who more than likely will go later in the yr to a playoff contender. I'd love to see a thunder alley specialist in the Bronx, but not for his steep/long contract costs. Besides the last thing the Yanx need is a pricy Vet, who'd blow up the process of grooming young prospects; vying for this job. Just imagine Machado in Boston, a team I'm sure he'd say fkyou too...(after last yr's bean ball wars)....
I believe he's looking for a 4 yr 40 Mil contract/payday...Prior pay 4.2 Mil p/yr.- Yanx obviously looking for options with a UT Vet, ie Nunez, Frazier, (no-Machado) to give relief for prospects if necessary. these two articles (t/prior moreso than the latter), hits the bullseye's, pro's and con's, stats, variables on Nunez. An asset at the plate, speed aggressive on the bases, versatile in the field, yet questionable often w/t glove/arm. Imo, Boston should of kept him, his swing tailor fit for the green motherfkr... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/11/free-agent-profile-eduardo-nunez.html https://www.overthemonster.com/2017/9/18/16325038/red-sox-offseason-eduardo-nunez-hot-stove
On mlb Yanks one of teams looking at grienke. I can't even imagine how this could possible happen and still stay under the 197 mill cap. Have to believe if rumor is even true yanks using it to hurry tigers or pirates on making deal for the 2 pitchers they really want pricewise.
I lost all respect for Zack, when he said (on leaving La), "it's not about the money, I wan't to play for a W.S. capable team". The lowly D-backs, an org in total disarray from the Top down. Greinke's contract handcuffs his own team's inability to contend, or put together a sound team. I just hope the Yanx don't waste a cent on him, regardless,.... Greinke still has a whopping $138.5MM owed to him through the 2021 campaign. Imo, no SP's worth 30 Mil, let alone 35, ....
