Tony Jones @Tjonessltrib 3m3 minutes ago The Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets are discussing a deal that would send Trey Burke out for Ty Lawson, league sources tell The Tribune
Wow..... why would Utah do that? I get that Burke has been a disappointment, but Lawson is pile of hot garbage. He's completely worthless.
I think they're basically the same player, Burke being younger. Makes no sense unless Utah is gonna waive Lawson to open space for Conley?
I've read some analysts saying that Lawson needs the ball and problem was he never touched it in Houston ...along with drinking like a fish..but they could be connected...he didn't have a role on that trainwreck Houston roster that fit his skillset...and Utah has Jerry Sloan..a guy who won't tolerate laziness or lack of conditioning....They might think they can get him on track
He's in the front office still isn't he? They hired him out of retirement..I wasn't talking coaching staff
Return to the Jazz[edit] On June 19, 2013, the Utah Jazz announced that Sloan was returning as an adviser and scouting consultant.[4] On January 31, 2014, the Jazz honored Sloan by raising a banner featuring the number "1223," which represents Sloan wins with the Jazz from 1988 to 2011.[22]
Disagree as up to last year Lawson averaged 15 ppg and 9.6 assists per game. He is not a great shooter, but he is a pretty good facilitator. Obviously the off the court concerns are an issue but I believe it is pretty significant upgrade from Neto and Burke for the Jazz. Burke only looks for his own shot and has been pretty poor getting his teammates involved his whole career.
True, but Lawson has at least performed well at some point. He was a pretty good point guard in Denver for a while. Someone who was a quality starter at one point, and is still within their prime, has more value than someone that never performed.
