He's someone I hope we don't trade, outside of Dame, CJ, and Meyers he has the highest ceiling of any of our players and unlike Meyers he has a real chance of getting there.
They don't have the pieces to trade for DMC. Valentine is their only valuable, going piece. Sure Mirotic is okay but he's 25/26 ish. They need a backup C (Plumlee) and they're loaded at PF with Portis and Gibson (making Mirotic expendable). Then they give up a late lotto pick for a guy who can get you 20ppg and they're able to bring him off the bench. Yeah, such a bad trade...
As much as I like Cousins, he isn't a franchise player imo. He is a Bosh/Aldridge, a guy who can be your number 1 but you ain't going very far.
That's why he'll be our number two. Who in the league can guard him? Everyone is going small, but what could GSW do against a Dame/Cousins combo?
That's true, but I think we can land Cousins without giving up CJ. Patience will have to be key there.
I don't want that scumbag anywhere near our roster. Plus, think of all the dead fish floating down the Willamette when he bathes every six weeks or so...
If the Cavs threw in Cedi Osman's rights or Jordan McRae, maybe... But I'd lean towards no just on age alone.
"If this player is traded during the 2011-12 season, then his outgoing salary from the sending team's perspective is his actual salary -- $2 million. But the player's incoming salary from the receiving team's perspective is $8.94 million -- the average of all five seasons. Such a player would be very difficult to trade -- a legal trade can only be accomplished if both teams add additional salary to the transaction, or if they include a third team that is able to absorb excess salary." http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q90 Cousins is roughly 17 million. CJ+Meyers would be roughly 12.5 million. Need another 3ish million to make it work. Vonleh maybe. Sac is under the cap, so I think they can absorb the poison pill.
I still don't see the Bulls doing it. There are rumors of a Taj for Gay deal, which is much better for them if they actually want Rudy Gay. And they have Rondo and Wade at guard and Jimmy Butler at SF. They also spent a lot of "political capital" on McDermott, he'll be their backup SF.
