I like Vuc but any highlights agaisnt our team should mean nothing. Our interior defense was among the worst the league Annnnd he wouldn't help it.
We got Buck when he was 30, right? Adding Paul at 32 scares me, especially when you factor in the cost of the acquisition, the possibility of him leaving in the offseason, and his upcoming salary if we do retain him.
Well I didn't necessarily mean is it literally possible. More like, can we put together a package that they would accept without CJ
I think they would accept a deal that doesn't involve CJ. CJ for Noel would be too high a price anyway. I could see them giving him for far less, especially as he's about to hit free agency next year and will definitely get paid. If Embiid recovers and does well they will have no reason to keep all three of Embiid, Okafor and Noel and if they could get a decent shooter (Crabbe, Leonard) or a good, solid small forward on a friendly contract (Aminu, Harkless) they would definitely consider it. They couldn't even get a pick for either Noel or Okafor from Boston this year so they must realize that their price is not exactly sky high at present. Then again I see Ezeli as our Noel. He's also good defensively and not much offensive threat aside from the odd dunk. Why pay $15M+ for Noel who won't provide us with much extra? Then again his defense is probably a bit ahead of Ezeli, especially outside the rim.
Nerlens has been históric on defense so far in his career. He would help us a ton and he's still raw on offense but he's only like 22?
Does the accent mean something I don't know? Because I haven't seen any stats that make him look particularly good. He gets blocks and steals, true, but they're not great indicators. I think Crabbe for Noel would be perfectly fair, except that Crabbe's new contract makes that pretty hard to pull off.
Depends on how far below the salary cap the Sixers are. Of course, the front line probably isn't where we want to add players. Consolidate, sure, but not add.
They're way below the cap limit and I doubt they're getting any significant free agents anytime soon so they could accommodate Crabbe's contract easily. It's not worth it for us though, Crabbe is our number one backcourt back up option and we don't need to mess with that, he's also well capable of filling in a SF role. Unless we could consolidate Leonard and Plumlee for a good SG/PG I'd not move Crabbe. Leonard/Plumlee to another team for a backcourt shooter with the other of them going to Philly could probably work.
If there's any chance of the Bulls moving Mirotic (got maybe a backup C?) I'd try and get him and send out Plumlee and a future 1st. Miotic/Ezeli would fit each other perfectly and so would Davis/Leonard.
