How many trades will the Blazer make on or before Draft night(s)?

Anyone do this if GSW strikes out on PG? I'd cut Paul immediately. Apparently Paul and Ayton hated each other.

Lakers roster is really weak, even if they trade for Grant I doubt they contend. Had amazingly healthy seasons from Davis/Lebron last year - with their typical missed games that team might be in the lottery.

That said Reaves has been much more effective in his career to date than Sharpe, so I'd tend to think he has the immediate edge if they were competing head to head. Reaves was a key creator on the WCF run. I like Sharpe potential much more but its more theoretical than something that has been proven on the floor.

    Unprotected picks? Yes!

I'm a bit doubtful Grant is worth two unprotected FRP - but if so I sure hope Cronin pulls that trigger.

There isn't a need to cut Paul - his salary would have to be guaranteed for the trade. Would be better to keep him until the deadline for trade options. We could have him do geriatric rehab at home or something.

They actually might be more willing to give us 2025 if they think they will be decent next year. But yeah, the later one might be protected top 4 or something like that.

Yeah it's funny that I plugged that exact same trade in on fanspo like an hour ago. I think it makes sense for the Warriors and for us. I think they might get a protection on the 2028 pick and Joe should just fight to make sure that at some point that a FRP is guaranteed to convey from what I would assume will be a protected 2028 FRP but the 2026 FRP should be unprotected.

They have until Sunday to make the PG deal. If it falls through, I could see Grant going to Golden State. I had no idea that they have all their picks.

Obviously 2025 isn't available to trade because they didn't pick in this draft... we did for Washington. Every FRP 2026 and on is available though.

What the fuck was Richman talking about in his podcast. A 2% chance we cut Jabari Walker? A world where Jabari doesn't make the team? That would be idiotic.

Like I said, playing 3-10 games doesn’t prove anything. Getting out of the preseason isn’t enough.

He would have to show that he could stay healthy for an entire year to increase his trade value in my opinion.

If I were a GM, I’d say this: “Yeah, he is healthy now. But he hasn’t shown he can stay healthy for an entire season, so as soon as I trade for him, as history suggests - he won’t be available in the playoffs when I need him. No thanks”

He is the Giancarlo Stanton of the NBA.

Because there is no reason to keep him.

I don’t want Chauncey to have any excuses to play vets over Clingan.

That's not how the Steipen restriction works, after the draft it can be traded. The restriction only looks 7 years forward - not backwards.

GS has 2030 pick 21-30 going to Washington which is pretty irrelevant so they effectively have all their picks.

Walker is my much worse than that forward we cut last year forgot his name that went to the Nets. Walker shot a career high 29% 3pt last year. With Deni rebounding, Toumani, he's just not needed at all. I'd plan to cut him but there's no reason to do it prior to late October 15 man limit.

Clingan is 20, he can ride the bench until he earns minutes.

If we cant trade Timelord for an asset we should keep him. Great player to watch, great defender, doesn't need big minutes, inexpensive contract.

I don't understand these posters terrified of our team not having minutes, did you watch the past 3 years where we had a dozen + Gleague scrubs starting?

I think once the 2024 pick conveyed, they can trade the 2025, it just future picks that needs a 2 year buffer

Even though the '30 pick is protected, it still MIGHT convey. Because of this, GSW can't trade their '29 or '31 picks.

What would be ironic if Paul ended up on the Blazers is we could have had him but we promised Martell Webster instead of taking someone who was considered one of the best PG prospects to ever come out -- that worked out well for the Blazers -- LOL

6 years is pretty quick for the average NBA team to retool like that.

He gets paid nothing and has shown more than Kris Murray. He is young and can continue to improve. He has some really good games last year.
