Woj carrying the Lakers water. This is posturing. They know they need more talent. They aren't adding a third star with Jerami they're adding a top level role player which is something they're lacking around their two stars. A top level role player doesn't get you the haul that KD got the Nets or even the Bridges got the Nets. You do have to give up some assets worth value. Hopefully we get this trade done even if it's one draft pick and someone like Rui who we could keep or try to flip.

Yep, it is low. I hate helping the Lakers without really helping us. If it was an Eastern team I would feel better about it.
But if that is our last option I would go for it. But we either need one player who we can keep. (Hachimura or Vanderbilt) Take whoever is better.

Dlo only if we think we can get a 1st for him.

The Blazers NEED / MUST trade Grant before the season starts cause I am not sure Deni and Grant work well together not to mention I would much rather have Scoot , Sharpe , Deni or even Ant being taking shots above Grant.

Or...it's possible that Deni and Grant work amazingly together. I'm certainly on board with trading Grant for assets, but I think you're overstating the urgency just a tad.

Imagine it, man. Jerami Grant and Deni Avdija, two talented dudes, stepping onto the court together. Sounds like a dream team, right? But, oh no, the universe has other plans, and it all comes down to the stars and their tunes. Jerami, born on March 12, is a Pisces. A dreamy, intuitive fish swimming in the cosmic sea, feeling every vibe, every beat, like it’s the soundtrack of his soul. He’s probably grooving to some smooth R&B, maybe a touch of classical when he’s in a really introspective mood. Deni, on the other hand, January 3, is a Capricorn. A mountain goat, climbing steadily, pragmatically, to the top. He’s all about that pop and hip-hop life, the beats that scream success, ambition, and “get stuff done, now!”

So, we’ve got Pisces and Capricorn, which is like throwing a poet and an accountant into a room and expecting them to write a hit single together. Jerami’s out here trying to send telepathic signals, like, “Dude, feel the flow.” Meanwhile, Deni’s mapping out plays with military precision. Jerami’s improvising, like some jazz maestro, while Deni’s sticking to the script, every note in place. It’s beautiful chaos, like a symphony of mismatched souls.

And then the music. Oh, the music. Pre-game, Jerami’s in his zone with some soulful R&B, his mind floating in a sea of harmony. Deni’s pumping himself up with high-energy pop, getting ready to conquer the world. Total clash of vibes. In the locker room, it’s a battle of the aux cord. Jerami’s eclectic mix versus Deni’s motivational anthems. The team’s caught in the crossfire of these musical titans, trying to keep the peace. And post-game, Jerami wants to chill, unwind with some mellow tunes, while Deni’s still riding the adrenaline wave, blasting tracks that keep the energy high. They’re on different planets, man, different universes.

Picture this: final moments of a game. Jerami, in his Piscean intuition, decides to go rogue, make a spontaneous move. Deni’s yelling, “Stick to the plan!” Jerami’s beautiful improvisation meets Deni’s rigid structure, and it’s like watching a surrealist painting clash with a corporate PowerPoint. Or during a timeout, Jerami’s pouring out his feelings, suggesting a play based on a gut feeling. Deni’s all about the strategy, the numbers, the facts. The huddle becomes a theater of clashing ideologies.

The key is if we are keeping Jerami and/or Ant that those guys need to change the roles they had in our offense last season. They can't be ball stoppers. They can't be 1 on 5 guys anymore. Some of my urgency to have both guys moved is a lack of faith in Chauncey to have those hard conversations. I want Ant and Jerami taking less shots than Shaedon, maybe Deni and probably Deandre. I want Ant and Jerami to have far less usage than Scoot and probably less usage than Shaedon and maybe even Deni.

I don't know what making that happen does to those two players' morale and with Jerami the biggest concern is what it all does to his trade value because while a change in role would make Ant a possibility to stay with the team long term, nothing makes me want to keep Jerami long term.

Grant and Ant do not HAVE to be traded quickly … though Ant has the earlier expiration date for when the Blazers lose leverage. However, Cronin said Scoot and Shaedon. Not Ant. Not Grant.

The chatter outside of the organization … with some likely given out to team friendly sources … has the Blazers already going down that trade road and not taking down the media and agent generated billboards on Grant and then Ant.

The above trade could be two trades to avoid the complications of a three team trade. The below trade would have to be a three team deal.

The pick going to NOLA would be the most preferable of all of the 2029 picks we'd have at that time (ours, the Bucks, Lakers and Celtics). I think the Pelicans would have to have an idea of a team they could trade CJ to and get something of value back. Also the Pelicans might have to send the Jazz some kind of draft compensation but I think that trade is pretty good for both teams considering how I think Ingram would pair with Collins.

Maybe price for Grant is too high and Lakers are pivoting to Kuzma?

I'd rather have Rui than Duncan Robinson.

Just stop with Zion trade idea please.... as likely as Luka or Giannis lol

You like Rui more than Duncan Robinson and an unprotected FRP?

Oh that was my bad. I meant for it to be an unrestricted first. Duncan is on a bad contract and Rui is on a good one. Rui gives the Heat things they're seriously lacking.

Have a feeling Joe may have to wait until the next trade deadline to unload Ant, Grant and RWIII. The knicks need size but I don't think they have anything to offer for RWIII.

I will say it again if this is accurate. It's really crazy how other GMs are able to get the moves done that they need to but for whatever reason Joe just can't. It's a real problem. It cost us Dame. It has us doing this dumbass two timeline shit, which if Chauncey doesn't coach it correctly will fuck up the development of our highest potential young talent. Joe needs to be a lot less cautious. Somewhere between where he's at and Trader Bob level of trigger happy.

Yeah, maybe that’s what the hangup is. Maybe the Blazers are treating Grants trade value like he’s a big star in this league and asking for too much.

I don't think asking for two 1st round picks is too high at all. It's more than fair imo. I would assume other teams would be interested in him as well.
