I love Lillard as much as anyone and think he and Melo could complement each other really well. One of the good comparisons for Lillard IMO is Chauncey Billups, who played really well next to Melo.

07-08 (last full season in Detroit)
    17 ppg, 6.8 apg, 2.7 rpg, 1.3 spg, 44% fg and 40% 3 point
08-09 (the year he was traded)
    12.5 ppg, 7.5 apg, 5 rpg, 1.5 spg, 33% fg and 28% 3 point in Detroit
    to
    17.9 ppg, 6.4 apg, 3 rpg, 1.2 spg, 42% fg and 41% 3 point in Denver
They made it to the WCF and played the Lakers tougher than the Magic did in the Finals.
    09-10
    19.5 ppg, 5.6 apg, 3.1 rpg, 1.1 spg, 41% fg, 38% 3 point

Considering Billups was 32 when he got to Denver and past his prime you would think his scoring numbers would have gone down playing next to a player like Melo who gets some of the most negative labels there are. Carmelo also had his best season ever playing next to Billups. In 09-10 Anthony put up
    28.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.3 spg, 0.4 bpg, 45% fg and 31% 3 point

I think Melo and Dame would be fantastic together. I will take any opportunity i can get to get a top 10 player, even if it means we have to give up the 17th and 57th ranked players to do it.

No to melo. It will never happen. And thank god for that.

I like Dame now, since Chauncey, when he got there, was already a vet. Putting Carmelo with a point guard still finding all his game out would be brutal. That overtakes it all.

That, and melo is a horrible team player.

'nuff of the Melo talk. No trade is good for him.

I ask this because, as crazy and blasphemous as it is to say, I think Damian's lack of defense is really the only player on this team that is not very good on both sides of the ball by themselves.

Dame needs a great post defender to help him out. On ISO and in general situations he is sound defensively but he gets murdered on pick and roll and part of that is because LA and Lopez to a lesser degree are not good pick and roll defenders. Change out Lopez for someone like Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah, Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis or Larry Sanders and things would improve a lot.

Anthony Davis would be really fun. I don't think New Orleans gives him up for anyone besides Durant or Bron right now though

are you guys out of your minds???? i wouldn't trade batum for melo and im serious. melo is anti- ball movement which our entire team is based around. i don't care how many pts he puts up.

Melo + Dame gives us a legit one-two punch to counter OKC. I love LMA but LMA/Nic/Dame does not get us past OKC

Nope. Terrible idea. Break up a team with insanely good chemistry to bring in a crybaby ball hog douchebag narcissist with deep gang ties? You should be (figuratively) horsewhipped for suggesting it.

Top 10 what? Scorer, sure. Ballhog, absolutely. The only stats that Melo has ever been in the top 10 in more than twice are FGA, FGM, FTA, FTM, points, and usage. Note that PER is not in that list.
