CJ/Collins for Kawhi/Pau AFA/Mo/Caleb for Love TPE for Lee Re-sign Nurkic/Davis Dame/Baldwin Lee/Turner Kawhi/Turner Love/Davis Nurkic/Pau Lotta luxury tax, but that'd be a fun roster.
Oh yeah, if GMing were as easy as some of us trade-machine junkies suggest, they wouldn't be getting paid what they do. Still, a guy can dream, right? And honestly, none of those are really all that far-fetched, are they?
None of them are totally outrageous. You have to believe that SA wants to really rebuild if they toss in Gasol. I struggle a bit with Cleveland trading an all-star for three non-all-star forwards. CJ is your primary chip. He might get you in the door for Leonard or Love, but not both. Might be better to split up your two best chips (CJ and Collins) and have one going to SA and the other going to Cleveland. For some reason I could see SA more interested in Collins and Harkless/Aminu rather than CJ. CJ would be more interesting to Cleveland.
Collins/Aminu/Leonard(SA has turned a lot of castoffs into good players)/2018 POR 1st round pick for Kawhi CJ for Love TPE for Lee Re-sign Nurkic/Davis Dame/Baldwin Lee/Turner Kawhi/Turner Love/Davis/Swanigan Nurkic/Davis/Love/Big Dude we brought in
I was operating under the assumption that this would only occur if Lebron left, so Cleveland would want less guaranteed money to complement a tank season, but your scenario might be more plausible. I would be concerned that Kawhi would be a more attractive piece to other teams, so I figured we'd have to ante up a little more for him. And then, since CJ makes so much more than Kawhi, Pau would need to be included for salary matching (which they'd likely be in favor of anyway, since he's a bit overpaid for his age), which is why Collins would go to SA. Hmm...what if Pau were going to Cleveland? How much compensation would the Cavs need to downgrade from Love to Pau? Collins and a 1st enough?
SG is the most easy position to fill. There's no reason to give McCollum a quarter of total team salary, preventing all trades for years while he contributes very little in proportion.
I think we need to fill it via the draft. There are some solid SG options in the 20-30 range of the draft right now (Khyri Thomas, Jerome Robinson, Bruce Brown & De'Anthony Melton.). Obviously draft BPA, but if it's a toss up between a SG or a big, go with the SG. If one of them is a better fit alongside Dame, it frees up the CJ trade.
Man, it's great to see people agree with me. I guess it's timing, but in January I was Traitor #1 for giving reasons for why Olshey should trade McCollum (not that I expect Olshey to do it).
Chandler Hutchison! 6'7 w/ A 7'1 wingsoan, a SF but could play some SG. Good defender, solid shooter, can handle the ball and finish with a degree of craftiness inside.
In any trade scenario, if we want to trade money out but the team doesn't want money back (i.e. CLE if they trade Love), we could trade Meyers to ATL and take back Miles Plumlee with the TPE. Could even give Atlanta more salary if the wanted. But that's at least $10M outgoing (since Plumlee basically doesnt count as incoming salary) that wouldn't be going to whoever was our main trade partner.
Well, that's just factually wrong unless you only want to count the last four games out of a total of 86 games.
Looks like he's got giant blue gloves on. I'm no expert on these things but it would seem to be a handicap to me.
Can you even think for yourself and form your own opinions or just regurgitate Neil Olshey quotes... You are so brainwashed by Neil... do you realize this team was only 3 games from being out of playoffs... this team was 36-33 outside of win streak... this team couldn’t win 1 game in playoffs and lost 16 of last 21 games
I think the blue is flames from his hands moving so quickly. The friction with the air creates so much heat that the air ignites. Probably distracts the PnR player.
