I don't believe he is self centered. I'll bet he can adjust with any clear thinking, pass oriented, defensive coach that comes to us. He is not a problem. The head coach is the problem.

Its funny how little of the blame you put on Stotts, even he's most at fault.

That's actually a really good point. Besides, when you have somebody younger, better and cheaper supplant a star veteran in the pecking order, it's not always wise to keep the old guy.

This is the 4th year of the Dame-and-CJ Experience, and this record is permanently stuck on a track called "We're Trying Jennifer." It's a song that sounded pretty good when Dame was 24, but jeez, he's in his fucking prime right now at 28. Portland has to move on.

Does Dame consider Nurk our second best player?

Don't think anyone associated with the team does tbh. It's always "Dame and CJ" this "Dame and CJ" that. Nurk still can't average 30 mins.

This may be true, but would CJ have ever achieved his current status if we hadn't blown it up 5 years ago? If (a healthy) Wes Matthews and Batum were on the team the following few years, it's doubtful CJ ever starts. Stotts would've used him in his natural Microwave role off the bench in favor of more experience and defense in the starting unit. Sometimes you have to make space for young guys to really emerge.

Anyway, my hope is that we can trade CJ for pieces that go way beyond just clearing the path for Nurk.

This team needs a new identity."Dame and CJ" this and "Dame and CJ" that ain't cutting it.

    Would this work?

CJ + Aminu + Simons for Aaron Gordon + Evan Fournier .

We'd take on more salary, but I think our lineup would be more balanced. Fournier is shooting like shit this year though.

Dame also thinks Stotts is a good coach.

I think Stotts is a good coach in the same way I think Pete Carrol is a good coach.

This is why Dame and the others like Stotts - he’s a players coach. A seemingly nice and positive guy.

GET HIM SOME PLAYERS TO COACH!

Neil must go! He’s had his time here and quite frankly hurt the team with his signings of Meyers Leanard, Turner, and the list is about 6-8 long.

Blazers started the season 7-3 when CJ was trying to blend in and more players were getting consistent touches... the last 10 games CJ has become featured in the offense and the team is 3-7... at least he is padding his stats for a trade

CJ is an undersized ISO ball chucker that doesn’t play defense making 28 mil per year... he is the biggest reason this team will never succeed
