I was low key mad as hell that chris haynes reported he wasnt on our radar. What the actual fuck neil are we even going to try to improve?
I would consider a McCollum for Noel, their unprotected and a second round. That would give us (3) 1st round picks and one second( I believe we traded ours away?) We then do whatever finagling it takes to turn a couple of these into Josh Jackson. If we aren't lucky enough to nail a top three in the lottery ourselves, then we trade up with ours and Phi's. This would give us a lineup of: Dame/Napier/Turner Crabbe/Jackson(until he overtakes the starting spot)/Connaughton Harkless/Turner/Laymen Aminu/Davis/Leonard Noel/Plumlee/Leonard/ So lets say we have made it this far. Is there any combination of the following that could get us Ibaka? Leonard/Plumlee or Davis/Turner or Crabbe/Aminu/Laymen/any or all of our remaining picks? Lets say it takes Leonard/Laymen/Davis/Our picks. We would look like this: Dame/Napier Crabbe/Jackson/Connaughton Harkless/Turner Ibaka/Aminu Noel/Plumlee That is a pretty good core for the future to be able to tweak with no? Could we pull something like that off?
How do you figure we would have three 1st round picks? We have our own 1st round pick for 2017 and the 2nd round pick was traded to Houston.
Olshey is very tight lipped and Chris Haynes never had any breaking news about the Blazers and I doubt with him being removed for a few years he has any better connections to Olshey and people so I would take everything Chris Haynes says about what we are looking to do with a grain of salt.
Oh crap, I thought it was for this upcoming draft. and I knew it was protected, but would think our first and Phili 1st should be enough to move up enough to nail Josh Jackson, no?
He's looking damn good lately. I hope we can figure out a way to keep both and upgrade the front court.
Would Philly ever think of offering Noel, Phi 2017 pick, Lal 2017 pick for CJ + Cle 2018 1st? Not saying I would do this, but I think that's what it would take for Philly to acquire CJ.
CJ and dame are so good that Olshey has to find a way to acquire a center without giving them up. There's no way Noel isn't obtainable, my guess is Olshey doesn't want to give up a pick but man...you're not going to find a Noel in next years draft, especially not if we're picking 15th.
