Watching a replay of the DFenders/Warrior game. First time watching a D league game. It looks to me to be a lot better competition than Summer league. Surprised at all the vets who are still holding on to their dream.

Montero is certainly much improved than this summer. He looks so more confident. Glad we kept him,

Alexander is as advertised......wide, strong, energy in short bursts, questionable passing skills, looks to have a good stroke from the free throw line. I think we have a young more athletic Kendrick Perkins. The dude is solid. He has a ways to go but I would not let this kid get away. We need a guy who can mix it up.

Montero's movement and body type is eerily similar to Trevor Ariza. Stylistically, he reminds me of Alec Burks.

Excited about him for sure and hope he carves out a spot in the rotation next year. I like hark and aminu, but montero seems like the highest upside sf on the roster.

just want to second riverman's appreciation and thanks to jlprk for his reporting and scalma for the video highlights. nice to see the potential in our two project players and how far they have come under the coaching staff considering just how inexperienced and young they both are.

    7'4" wingspan

Festus Ezeli was a scrub for Golden State, didn't get any minutes and was stuck behind Maresse Speights. Then Speights got injured, they gave Ezeli a chance and he's been a key for them ever since.

CJ was considered a scrub until one playoff series last season. Stranger things happen

Give him Kevin Garnett's neck and he would be 6'11"

Montero is gonna show some people in summer league. I thought Montero was going to be a player based on last summer league, even if his stats were awful.

Something to keep in mind about Montero, he's about to turn 23 in a few weeks.

Too bad he couldn't get any court time this season. I like his handle. He's a free agent this summer -- could be a decent 10-12 guy for next year on a cheap contract.

We have another guy on the team with similar measurements who has played 0 minutes of C on the season.

    9'0 reach
    7'4.25" wingspan
    247 lbs
and for good measure: 37" max vert

I'm telling you guys... we need to play Noah Vonleh at C and see how he can anchor the defense. Screams Al Horford on D to me.

No he's not. Per Basketball-reference.com, he signed a 3 yr deal. I'm sure the deal is non-guaranteed though.

Weird analogy. You're comparing apples to oranges. They didn't "give him a chance". They were forced to play him when one of their better players got injured. Our bigs save Meyers Leonard are not injured. He's the only injury we have. So what who's minutes are Montero and Alexander going to take? There's not one person on the roster they should play before.
