The box score says each played 5 minutes already and got good stats.

Montero has 6 pts 1 assist, 1 rebound and 2 steals in 5 minutes...Alexander has 2 pts and 2 boards in the same time...not bad! (posted in case of a jlprk power glitch)

Looks like the 2 teams just scored a lot of points in the early minutes. Tickets were sold selling a visiting Baron Davis (he's promoted on their site for this game) and he's sitting out the game on the bench.

Montero gets in for the last minute of 2 of the 1st quarter, does nothing. We're up 29-27. No Alexander yet. I will call them M and A if I type fast. I might call the Delaware 87ers Deli, thinking of a Philly hoagie sandwich.

Montero stepped out of bounds with the ball, exactly where he did it a couple of times yesterday, the left block while preparing to take off dribbling. Yesterday he also got stripped there twice, besides stepping out the other times. A enters the game.

36-29 after A makes an 8-foot floater on a set play, then a dunk. Both from an Xavier Henry assist. Deli calls time out for a hamburger and Coke.

M looks shorter and thinner today than yesterday. Like 6-6 vs. 6-9. Sometimes he looks short and sometimes tall. I need better seats and stronger theater binoculars.

M brought it down helter skelter, went up in the air to pass alley oop to A, A wasn't there, M was embarrassed. A dunked it a minute later.

A is doing better on offense than last night, but is still a sieve on defense. He is one year away from being good at being one of those shotblocking-only, no other defense centers. 49-43 we lead, 4:32 left in the half.

Our 2 guys have been out for several minutes. there are a LOT fewer fouls and the game runs a lot faster. Once their teammates can speed up, I realize they're all better than Montero, much less Alexander. Well, I'm not an Olshey on judging potential.

Riverman, make lots of money and tell your street pimp you don't wash windshields for tips.

Our guys lead the team in +/- (+11A and +9M). Montero also leads in turnovers, with 4 at haltime

Perceptions: We're only up 64-60 but it seems like we're cruising. Deli seems to lack size.

Just tuned in. It's halftime. These announcers are better than most nba broadcast teams.

Kevin Danna does play by play and Drew Shiller does color for Santa Cruz. They both talk faster than the Stampede commentators did when I watched Crabbe. I wouldn't say they're better, just quicker. You shut out a guy if he talks or posts in too much quantity. Can't stand volume communicators like that. Anyone with me on that? I know I agree with myself so I got that vote. Halftime is almost over, thank goodness.

Edit: I see Scalma posted about them, too.

This seems like a good time to talk about our favorite recipes while we wait oh wait...the action's back.

M dribbles far more energetically around the inside than Batum , but also gets a turnover about 1 out of every 2 times he dribbles. As I said after last game, he should channel his inner Batum, not his inner McCollum. He thinks he's a ballhandler as good as McCollum. We are 9 points up.

A is shooting 6-7 tonight, shooting as often as Thomas Robinson but against shorter players. Deli is not the team the D-Fenders were. I guess talent has been centralized into the media center where higher attendance is. The NBA used to do this.
