In seriousness, I think Demers is young and can grow into the role. I like the hire.
Why didn't they consider MB for this?
I assumed you wanted them to hire Mike Parker!!!
Will Holton do the color still?
Nobody wants to downgrade their job and work for the guys who fired him...MB will be the voice of Portland MLB
Hold out for the TV job! That's more your wheel house.
Parker is over his head now!
Or "eat crayons."
You 're in tough company, Hoss.
I think many of you forget that Wheels was a very controversial hire.
Far from beloved when he got here replacing Schonz. I used to listen to Brian in Sacramento, so I knew he was terrific, and I am really going to miss him. But let's give Travis a fair shot. I'm sure everyone will end up liking him plenty.
I don't recall anyone thinking Wheels himself was controversial, it was what the organization did to Schonz.
Well, I guess my point is that in 1999 Schonz was the broadcasting legend and no one really knew Wheels. Not dissimilar to now.
But you’re right. The Blazers did not treat Schonz right that’s for sure.
Many of the people I know didn't like Wheels on air at first but it didn't take long for him to win them over. He was a little to chatty in the beginning.
Im legitimately excited about this move. I really feel bad for Wheels. I hope if it was his health that it improves. He will always have a special part of Blazer history, and his calls were great.
I really enjoy Travis though, he seems like a good guy and a good worker, he’ll be alright!
No way - I love Chad's emotional hosting of that show - if we lose, he's suffering with me. If we win, he's almost as excited as I am.
Interesting that everyone seems to be forgetting Eddie Doucette was the bridge between Schonz and Wheels. Even, major media and PTB press releases.
Could catch...wasn't he doing TV with Jones at first or was he doing radio at first?
And those damn wickets.
