Totally disagree. Maybe if the work is less skilled. In my experience with skilled private sector industries is very different. Having some people with a 20+ year history of the organization is beneficial, it gives perspective, instant context, history of what was done, and can help the morale of the rest of the team. People will work much harder at all levels even new hires if they see a real possibility of a 20 year career, instead of being replaced by outsourcing. If they see the organization doesn't commit long to staff, they wont commit to the organization. Turnover is a huge cost. An organization needs a mix of fresh faces to get input for new ideas, but they also need some people with decades of experience.
Glad you won that and had that experience when you needed it. There is not much worse than losing a mom. Still feeling my mom's passing this year. Mother's day and her birthday are coming up this month. Stay strong bro.
That's what I was thinking when I heard this. Trying to pay some other dudes less to do the same job. I once got replaced by a younger dude because the boss didn't want to pay me,even though my work was superior. The guy they replaced me with ended up getting caught having sex with an underage employee at work.
Yep. See this happen a lot in all the communications related fields. What's left of newspapers are notorious for doing this.
I wonder how many fan bases would even know the name of their version of Jeff Curtin. Not justifying things, just weird how over reactionary fans are.
First off, I want to thank these guys for their service to the team, and us as fans. Blazer Broadcast is outstanding, and has been for a long time. Watching League Pass , all those years in Denver , to see our boys play , gave me a lot of knowledge on opposing team's crews. It was just the past 4 years where you could get your home crews all the time on League Pass. For a way lower price i might add (125 instead of 299 ). Helloooooo NFL. But if you think this wouldn't happen with new ownership, you're mistaken. And it probably would happen on an even larger scale. I worked at a great company in Denver. We had good quality pay raises, great health benefits, and even bonuses, and better yet, an awesome working environment. One of the Big Dog Corporations offered our owner an offer he couldn't refuse, and he didn't. They cut a 3rd of the staff immediately, and made the one's who stayed, Regret it, to the point where many long timers quit. It was awful. They brought in a management team that implemented tyranny. I went from the best to the worst. Not saying that it will. My situation was extreme. But i've heard many others say similar things. The Blazers are trying to improve the team and arena. Not all moves have, or will be , home runs. Hopefully most of the changes will be for the good. I think Jody is making the investment in the now, and for the future.
That’s how capitalism works; it’s a never-ending “how much sawdust can I put in this pop tart before people notice” experiment in making things worse to increase profits. Things will only get worse everywhere. You have to hope any particular company is less worse than everywhere so that it seems good.
