Schonely coined or popularized numerous phrases and sayings during his radio career with the Blazers, which have become synonymous with the Blazermania phenomenon in Oregon, including "Rip City," "Bingo Bango Bongo," "Climb the golden ladder," "Lickety brindle up the middle" and "You've got to make your free throws."[5] Schonely's best-known phrase, "Rip City", debuted in a game against the Lakers in 1970. The Blazers had fallen behind by a significant margin, yet rallied back to a two-point deficit. When a long jump shot by guard Jim Barnett tied the game,[1] Schonely blurted out, "Rip City! All right!" an exhortation for which Schonely had no literal explanation. The Blazers lost 136–114 but the phrase stuck, became synonymous with Blazers basketball and even became a nickname for Portland itself.[13] Schonely is also known for the opening line of each broadcast, "Good evening basketball fans, wherever you may be..." delivered in some variation since the beginning of his professional sportscasting career in Baton Rouge.[6] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Schonely
Translation: "Can you help me with "key words" so my ad pops up when you use a search engine? Apparently, I'm "search marketing" retarded."
What because Im asking for some help for a project I'm working on? Get real, Im a big fan, and besides I'm 24 and still learning the history and just asking for some help... I don't need to prove I'm a fan to anyone..
Translation: Im working on a very detailed design for a trailblazers t-shirt and need some help... Thanks for assuming though, really makes me feel welcome to the blog site as a fan...
Um.... its not.... I just really need some help? Im creating a t-shirt/ design.... Do I need to prove myself??
Yes, Im making a T-shirt design, in which i wanna submit it to them... The design is made up of words that describe the entire franchise from key sayings, to nicknames, anything... I already have a lot from personal knowledge but being I'm only 24 I don't know everything...
Like I said Im just brain storming a ton of different words, and then Im gonna weed out the ones I think best describe the franchise over the years... Didn't plan on using it but I just had it up there
