    NEWS AND NOTES
F Ruben Patterson, who missed two weeks with left Achilles tendinitis, was activated from the injured list on Nov. 19. To make room for Patterson, Portland placed rookie F Travis Outlaw on the IL with patella tendinitis. A 2003 first-round pick selected directly out of high school, Outlaw has played just one game this season.
Next season, the NBA will have a new look as part of the realignment into six divisions to welcome the Charlotte Bobcats to the fold, the league announced Nov. 17. The Bobcats will be in the 15-team Eastern Conference; the Hornets will move from the Eastern Conference to help create the 15-team West. In the newly created Northwest Division, the Sonics and Blazers will join the Jazz, Nuggets and Timberwolves.
