Honestly, who has more trade value around the league: Evan Turner or Tristan Thompson?

My uninformed opinion is that Evan Turner has more value. If Olshey moves Turner, it needs to be in a package to get someone back a whole lot more useful to the Blazers roster than Tristan Thompson. IMO

Better to stick with the status quo than make a trade just to look busy.

Well hoopsjock did bring up some valid points, so I can at least understand why they’d do the move, I’m just not all that into it.

Aminu is the perfect cheap bench player to have on your team to cover certain players despite the position. He needs to be gradually transitioned to that role.

Until recently, the only move anyone has discussed regarding ET was off-loading him at the cost of giving up a pick. What trade market is there for ET where we get value back?

And I completely disagree that this would be to look busy. It would be about roster balance and removing a player who just has not fit in well with this team and exchanging him for someone who just might have value, with no loss of future draft picks.

I would do anything to get Baldwin to lead a second unit surrounded by shooters and a rebounder. My preference would be to get someone with cap space to take ET for free, but . . .

What if we trade Turner and Swanigan for Thompson. It saves us $2.14 million and clears up a roster spot.

Every time someone proposes an ET trade I think: "Stop teasing me!!!!" Because while it would obviously be the addition by subtraction to the highest degree, Olshey seems straight smitten...

Turner for Thompson could make sense, but I think we're gonna have to go a couple months into the season first. Neil claims that the Curry/Stauskas acquisitions (and to a lesser extent, Davis' departure) are based upon the plan of surrounding Turner with shooters in the second unit. If that's true (questionable, to be sure), Olshey will want to see if that plan is in fact effective. If it is, then a trade may not be necessary, or Turner's trade value could increase. If not, then Turner will be worth as little as he ever was, and we'll have a benchmark performance level against which to measure the inevitable WBIV era.

Ehh... I'm not a big fan of of Thompson but if we're going with Dame/CJ combo he would help.

Exactly. That is the question. If someone dangled anything of value in front of Olshey would he take it? Or, does he really believe in ET and wants to try him first.

Olshey could spin it as Thompson being the vet with championship experience he was looking for.

Alex Len is like the bizarro world Tristan Thompson. He's about as far away as possible without being, say, Muggsy Bogues size.

Still think Love + Clarkson are the guys we need to be after if we're targeting CLE.

Aminu + Leonard + Collins for Love
    TPE For Clarkson

I'd rather trade for Olynyk than Tristan Kardasian…..Olynyk would be a great fit
