You posted a year ago that a good reason to attack him was that he ran rape rooms. When your side talks about gassing people, you don't mention that Reagan gave him those weapons to gas and kill people. Take the blame for what your side did, instead of starting a giant war to kill your agent.

Bullshit. We did not give him any weapons to gas and kill people. That's an outright fabrication on your part. The SCUD missiles he fired at Israel were Russian made. The AK47 rifles his army used are Russian made. The MIG fighter jets in his air force were Russian made. THe Dassault Mirage F.1EQs were French made. What part of "we didn't arm him with ANYTHING at all" don't you get? Or do you want to keep posting baldfaced lies?
USSR, France, Germany. They gave him the machinery to make the WMDs. He had a number of large factories that made the mustard gas and sarin and nerve agents on his own. Here's an accounting of what nations sold what to Saddam, or provided assistance in other forms. Since you wont' read it, you might skip to the bolded part, which lists what the US did. No nerve gas, precursors, etc. Saddam did not use biological weapons on anyone that we know of. What we did do (Reagan) was to arm the Iranians to fight Iraq in their war. Then he gave Saddam access to our satellite Intel that showed where all the Iranian positions were and Saddam was able to mop up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction In the early 1970s, Saddam Hussein ordered the creation of a clandestine nuclear weapons program.[24] Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs were assisted by a wide variety of firms and governments in the 1970s and 1980s.[25][26][27][28][29] As part of Project 922, German firms such as Karl Kobe helped build Iraqi chemical weapons facilities such as laboratories, bunkers, an administrative building, and first production buildings in the early 1980s under the cover of a pesticide plant. Other German firms sent 1,027 tons of precursors of mustard gas, sarin, tabun, and tear gasses in all. This work allowed Iraq to produce 150 tons of mustard agent and 60 tons of Tabun in 1983 and 1984 respectively, continuing throughout the decade. Five other German firms supplied equipment to manufacture botulin toxin and mycotoxin for germ warfare. In 1988, German engineers presented centrifuge data that helped Iraq expand its nuclear weapons program. Laboratory equipment and other information was provided, involving many German engineers. All told, 52% of Iraq's international chemical weapon equipment was of German origin. The State Establishment for Pesticide Production (SEPP) ordered culture media and incubators from Germany's Water Engineering Trading.[30] France built Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor in the late 1970s. Israel claimed that Iraq was nearing production of nuclear weapons, and destroyed the French-built reactor in 1981. Meanwhile, Israel's Mossad ran a secret and clandestine operations to either infiltrate Iraqi nuclear program and removed or killed its associated personalities. In 1980, Egyptian born-Iraqi nuclear scientist dr. Yahya El Mashad, head of the Iraqi nuclear program, was assassinated by Mossad. In 1983, a similar operation was undertaken when it was reported that Abdul Rasul, head of Iraqi Osirak reactor, was poisoned in Paris during a lunch, delegated by French officials.[citation needed] Later, a French company built a turnkey factory which helped make nuclear fuel. France also provided glass-lined reactors, tanks, vessels, and columns used for the production of chemical weapons. Around 21% of Iraq’s international chemical weapon equipment was of French origin. Strains of dual-use biological material also helped advance Iraq’s biological warfare program. Italy gave Iraq plutonium extraction facilities that advanced Iraq’s nuclear weapon program along with 75,000 shells and rockets designed for chemical weapons. Between 1979 and 1982 Italy gave depleted, natural, and low-enriched uranium. Swiss companies aided in Iraq’s nuclear weapons development in the form of specialized presses, milling machines, grinding machines, electrical discharge machines, and equipment for processing uranium to nuclear weapon grade. Brazil secretly aided the Iraqi nuclear weapon program by supplying natural uranium dioxide between 1981 and 1982 without notifying the IAEA. About 100 tons of mustard gas also came from Brazil.[citation needed] The United States exported support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq war over $500 million worth of dual use exports to Iraq that were approved by the Commerce department. Among them were advanced computers, some of which were used in Iraq's nuclear program.[31] The non-profit American Type Culture Collection and the Centers for Disease Control sold or sent biological samples of anthrax, West Nile virus and botulism to Iraq up until 1989, which Iraq claimed it needed for medical research. A number of these materials were used for Iraq's biological weapons research program, while others were used for vaccine development.[32] For example, the Iraqi military settled on the American Type Culture Collection strain 14578 as the exclusive anthrax strain for use as a biological weapon, according to Charles Duelfer.[33] In the late 1980s, the British government secretly gave the arms company Matrix Churchill permission to supply parts for Saddam Hussein's weapons program, while British Industry supplied Gerald Bull as he developed the Iraqi supergun. In March 1990, a case of nuclear triggers bound for Iraq, were seized at Heathrow Airport. The Scott Report uncovered much of the secrecy that had surrounded the Arms-to-Iraq affair when it became known.[34] The British government also financed a chlorine factory that was intended to be used for manufacturing mustard gas.[35]
GHW Bush had one of those quick wars that you say can't happen. It went from August 2, 1990 through February 28, 1991. Seven months. When it was over, Saddam was left in power. GHW Bush urged the Iraqi people to rise up and overthrow Saddam. He did not provide any materiel or other real support and the uprisings were squashed. That's when Saddam used WMDs on his own people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_War In Coalition-occupied Iraqi territory, a peace conference was held where a ceasefire agreement was negotiated and signed by both sides. At the conference, Iraq was approved to fly armed helicopters on their side of the temporary border, ostensibly for government transit due to the damage done to civilian infrastructure. Soon after, these helicopters and much of Iraq's military were used to fight a Shi'ite uprising in the south. The rebellions were encouraged by an airing of "The Voice of Free Iraq" on 2 February 1991, which was broadcast from a CIA-run radio station out of Saudi Arabia. The Arabic service of the Voice of America supported the uprising by stating that the rebellion was large, and that they soon would be liberated from Saddam.[95] In the North, Kurdish leaders took American statements that they would support an uprising to heart, and began fighting, hoping to trigger a coup d'état. However, when no U.S. support came, Iraqi generals remained loyal to Saddam and brutally crushed the Kurdish uprising. Millions of Kurds fled across the mountains to Turkey and Kurdish areas of Iran. These events later resulted in no-fly zones being established in northern and southern Iraq
That was too short. I can top that easy. http://marc.perkel.com/2004/07/02/did-saddam-gas-the-kurds-or-was-it-reagan/ ----- Did Saddam Gas the Kurds? Or was it Reagan? It was the 1980s. Saddam was America’s puppet in Iraq fighting the Iranians who has just turned into an Islamic state after America’s puppet – The Shaw of Iran – died of cancer. Osama bin Laden was our buddy in Afganastan and the Teliban was know as the MujaHadine Freedom Fighters. Reagan was trading arms for hostages to fund an illegal war against the Sandinista-controlled government of Nicaragua. And now Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfield was makking oil deal with Saddam Hussein. We now accuse Saddam of gassing his own people and we want to put him on trial for it. And – if he did it – he deserves to die for it. But America gave Saddam the poison gas that he used to hill the Kurd – gas that he was supposed to use to kill Iranians. Poison gas is illegal under International Law and America making it is illegal. But Americans are above the law – or specifically Republican presidents are above the law – and we make nerve gas and we gave it to Saddam to use to kill people in Iran – which Saddam also did. So – you see – Republicans interpret the law differently than the rest of the world. It’s OK to gas Iranians – but it’s not OK to gas Kurds. If Saddam if found guilty then i- in my view – his partner Ronald Reagan is also guilty. Reagan gave Saddam poison gas to kill Iranians and Saddam did what Reagan wanted – but he just gassed some Kurds on the side. Reality is different than American political fiction. Under International Law it’s just as illegal to gas Iranians as it is to gas Kurds and the criminals include everyone who was involved which includes those who supplied Saddam with the gas with instructions to use it. Reagan is dead now – and beyond the reach of the law. But Reagan was Saddam’s partner in the gassing of the Jurds and a conviction of Saddam is also a conviction of Ronald Reagan – both of whom are criminals of war. Reader Comments Ive known this for a long time, its sickening to think that our government is so corrupt when it comes to republicans in power. #1* WRITTEN BY JOSHUA GILLOGLY ON JULY 2ND, 2004 @ 7:29 AM Mr. Perkel how do I get in contact with you, I want to clarify some things about the Bible, you made good points, but bad points as well! From Uncle Sam, of course. It’s sad that the media is giving this administration a pass and telling the truth about the ties between the Bush family and Saddam and Hitler. Yes, Dubya’s grandfather’s company financed the SS during WWII. America has a history of dealing personally with both sides. Ultimately, it’s all about money and oil. #4* WRITTEN BY CHARLIE CHINGAS ON JULY 2ND, 2004 @ 9:46 AM It gets better: they did not charge Saddam with any crimes while he was an american puppet in the eighties. they have indictments from 1974, and indictments from 1991, but none from when Cheney and Reumsfeld were feeding Iraq WMD! What a strange coincidence! http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=578&e=2&u=/nm/20040702/ts_nm/iraq_dc [snip] Apart from the invasion of Kuwait, the preliminary charges against Saddam referred to the suppression of Kurdish and Shi’ite revolts after the 1991 Gulf War (news – web sites), poison gas attacks and other massacres of Kurds, the killing of religious leaders in 1974 and the killing of political figures over three decades. Iran’s former president asked why the charge sheet had not mentioned Iraq’s 1980-88 war with the Islamic republic. “Why does Saddam face charges regarding several months of Kuwait occupation but not for the eight-year Iran-Iraq war?” Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani asked in a Friday prayer sermon. Weapons of mass destruction that he DOES NOT have. Which is it, it can’t be both. #7* WRITTEN BY X-FREEPER ON JULY 6TH, 2004 @ 9:58 AM thats because what he is talkin about is gas weapons which he has already used on the kurds, so he does not have them any more. #8* WRITTEN BY JOSHUA GILLOGLY ON JULY 6TH, 2004 @ 10:30 AM OK, You got it all wrong: The Kurds were gassed with a blood agent that Iran had, and Iraq had mustard gas only. Saddam was not aware of what was goign on, and he has always denied the charges. The USA vetoed a UNSC resolution comdemning Iraq of the genocide, on the other hand, the USA pumped up sales of chemical weapons to Iraq after the Kurds incident. For that reason, the USA was so sure Iraq had WMDs, because they did not think Saddam would destroyed ‘em (because they worth millions) but it seems that he got rid of them some how. Unfortunatly those who lose a war, they are those to be tried… and Bush knows that. #9* WRITTEN BY RAUL ON JULY 6TH, 2004 @ 6:36 PM I think the idea of breaking up the USA into independant manageable state coutries may well be the only solution if we’re to have peace on this planet. They seem to have outdone Hitler, Stalin, Pinnoche and many others put together, and on top of that they want to rewrite the books to their liking! Something must be done to stop this destructive paranoid madness before its too late. With all due respect to the millions of Americans who are contributing positively to this planet, the cost of enduring their successive destructive administrations does not make it worthwhile(sadly). #14* WRITTEN BY MARIOS POLYCARPOU ON JULY 10TH, 2004 @ 1:59 AM I have to say, comparing the Bush Administration to Hitler is going to far. I believe Bush betrayed our country, and I am confident we will remove him from office. I have to say, comparing the Bush Administration to Hitler is going too far. I believe Bush betrayed our country, and I am confident we will remove him from office. But I would not go that far. With Hitler, a world war was fought to remove him, and he still managed to kill 6 million in camps and indirectly millions more in war. As for Bush, with a simple vote, we (Americans) can remove him, and begin to move to a better place. Finally, comparing Hitler and Stalin to the Bush admin takes away from the credibility of this good article. That can be a disservice. #15* WRITTEN BY ADAM BEDELL ON AUGUST 4TH, 2004 @ 10:44 AM geese, ignore that first line, stupid editing. #16* WRITTEN BY ADAM BEDELL ON AUGUST 4TH, 2004 @ 10:45 AM Removing Bush from power might not be that easy. Anytime he desires he can declare martial law and be there permently, he can do this without anyones approval. Over the yrs. everything that was needed to be passed has been passed by congress. All that is needed is an excuse to get it passed the public and probably not even that. #17* WRITTEN BY DAN ON JUNE 5TH, 2005 @ 1:40 PM Prior to 1980s both Iraq and Iran had border skirmishes, some mustard gas was reported used. After the Shaw of Iran was diagnosed with cancer in late 1970s, leaving Iran in 79 for Western Medical care, the Iran regime fell apart as many (especially college age) rebelled previous SAVAK atrocities (reportedly set up by CIA). The Shaw dying of cancer in 1980 required President Reagan sending Rumsfeld to establish Saddam as our ally against Iran. From 1982 President Reagan removing Iraq from US “Terrorist Supportin Nation” embargo enabled legal sale of WMD to Iraq and Saddams regime. After this date more dangerous Sarin gases were reported used by Iraq against Iran. In 2005 the Bush admin. began setting up a Secret Police Agency in Iraq much like the SAVAK agency set up for the Shaw of Iran in 1953. What goes around, comes around, with US intelligence calling it “Blow Back.” No commercial link is permitted in my post. #18* WRITTEN BY WAYNE ON SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2005 @ 9:10 PM Answer… The 1990 US war (using UN) had US generals reporting they destroyed large quantities of Iraq WMD using ‘Smart Weapons’. From 1991-98 the UN reported destroying 90% more of Iraqs WMD. Understand that the Bush-Admin did not say Iraq had WMD from before 1991, but had refurbished ‘factories’ that had produced ‘stockpiles of WMD’. The Bush-Admin also identifed the almost exact locations where these factories and WMD-stockpiles could be found. Also saying these WMD were ready for deployment within a 45-minute interval. The (possible) atomic bombs were somewhat iffy. The answer to your question is that the Bush-Admin set up within the Pentagon an ‘Office of Special Plans’ in early 2002. It was this group who used documented liars and thieves to manufacture WMD proof. They then bypassed all legitimate US and International Intelligence agencies taking the BS straight to Bush. Understand I am not calling these people liars, criminals is a more apt description. #19* WRITTEN BY WAYNE ON SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2005 @ 9:42 PM Does anyone remember the 7000 page U.N. report that listed extensive amounts of WMD chemicals, etc.? The report showed they were in existance, but Sadaam could not and would not explain when and where they were properly disposed of. I’m sure Bush 43 fabricated the U.N. report as well. Where was Bill Clinton during the ’90′s when the U.N. was sanctioning Iraq for violations (17 of them)? The U.S. Senate committee on National Security had the same intelligience the White House had and yet they voted “YES” to take out Sadaam. For anyone (Kerry) who said they did not know the facts are either lying or incompetent. How can any Senator not take such serious issues to heart? The enemy is not George Bush, but the Islamics who have sworn to destroy America. They have proved this in words and action. I have not forgotten Sept 11, 2001. #20* WRITTEN BY DALE ON FEBRUARY 11TH, 2006 @ 6:37 AM Dale, If you haven’t forgotten (/11, then you need to watch a DVD called 9/11, In Plane Site. Question what really happened and what we’ve been told. #21* WRITTEN BY CARE4ALL ON APRIL 11TH, 2006 @ 9:35 AM Dale, obviously you’re incredibly ignorant. Its Republican supporters like this that give motivation for others to hold America in spite. Your unwavering support of a corrupt administration in the face of illegal constitutional amendments. Nixonian stonewalling and refusal to comply with the law (senate subpoenas). Refusal to operate with oversight (abuse of executive priviledges).Lies and hypocrisies to maintain a secretive regime (cheney isnt part of any branch but is part of any specific branch whenever it allows him to circumnavigate the law). The pardoning of scooter libby being an outright disgrace and conflict of interest with investigations. Wiretapping and destruction of Habeas Corpus, the Patriot Act. And yet Bush still has nerve to blame Democrats for his failure in Iraq, for overspending despite his Iraq effort and his administrations gross misuse of assets, personal expenditure more then Clinton’s office three-fold. What a national and international disgrace. The racist ideals that he spread, the bipartisanship agenda that he promoted. The sacrifice of liberties for ‘freedom’. The contempt he has for the constitution. and yet fuckwitted republicans can STILL accept him and still CONDONE guantanemo bay an outright international law and geneva convention breach. Look at the GOP candidates, what an absolute joke. Have fun background checking their leading candidate Giuliani, or any of their front-runners. I’m not sure whether its a run for presidency or for crony of the year. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and yet Dale uses this as justification for the massacre of Iraqi’s under the guise of ‘democracy’ and his twisted racist views of Islam. If we are to judge a people based on an extremist faction and a singular event then by that lets view Christians in equal contempt. Stake burnings for heresy. The Crusades. Abortion clinic bombings. Gay bashers and murderers who believe its an act for god. You get the idea now Dale? You’re incredibly stupid and an embarrassment to yourself and humanity. #22* WRITTEN BY TONY ON JULY 20TH, 2007 @ 4:14 PM
What a load of inflammatory nonsense. I looked into a few WWW sites that made similar claims. The claims are based on a small amount (60 tons) of chemical precursors smuggled by an Iraqi front company through Jordan to Iraq. The man who ran this front company is a arms dealer who was arrested in Germany in ~2002 for smuggling drill bits that could be used to make a super gun. The precursor in question is typically used to make nylon. On the other hand, tens of thousands of tons of precursor chemicals were sold to Iraq by USSR, China, France, Germany, etc. If you actually believe that Reagan sold WMDs to Iraq, then you must agree that Clinton sold nuclear weapons to North Korea. You see, his administration agreed to build light water nuclear reactor power plants in North Korea as part of a deal to normalize relations. Those nuclear reactors could be used to make the material for North Korea's nukes. Now, there's no dispute that it was our foreign policy to support both Iraq and Iran in their war. We saw it as a way to force the USSR to spend more military dollars while two nations who weren't our best friends duked it out. The extent of "weapons" we supplied to Iraq in the 1980s were a handful of lear jets (commuter planes) and 45 20-seat transport helicopters. Like I said, we tipped the war in Iraq's favor by providing them with our satellite Intel, and that was enough to assure Saddam stayed in power. As far as relationships between nations go, Russia was once our enemy in WW II. Then they became our ally. Then they became our enemy again in the cold war. Then they became our friends during the glasnost era. Now they're not so friendly with us. You see, things change. This was true of Iraq. GHW Bush was the first ambassador to China when Nixon thawed relations with them. He was ambassador to the UN. He was head of the CIA. In other words, he had very strong foreign policy credentials and skills. He took military action against Iraq after Saddam invaded Kuwait. Clinton had near zero foreign policy credentials or skills and he merely perpetuated the policies put in place by Bush. The Iranians were armed by the US. Right up until the time Jimmy Carter botched our relationship with their people by providing aid and comfort and safe haven to the Shah. From the time the Iranians took our people hostage until Iran-Contra, we sold them nada. In Iran-Contra, we sold them spare parts for the decades old tanks and jeeps they bought from us, along with a few days' worth of missiles. $30M in total in a war that both sides spent 10s of $billions.
Speaking of chemical weapons.
