The point he was trying to make is that you can't just pick and choose what laws you FEEL are okay, and what laws aren't. We ALL follow them. And if you don't like them, CHANGE them.

I would LIKE to have an AR-15 with a short barrel, without registering it with the government and going through pointless paperwork. But if I hacked the barrel off of one, I'd be committing a Federal felony offense. So I don't do it....because it's ILLEGAL.

It's very easy to do. Obey the law.

 

Oral sex is illegal in many states too....doesn't stop a lot of folks...you want to jail them too?

I'm not the one whining and crying about pot....I live where it's legal. I'll whine about putting pot smokers in jail and making dependents out of them instead of contributors...don't want them rounding up people for their recreational choices ....alcohol is way more dangerous to society than pot ever was. Prohibition empowered the mob and made moonshiners into pop culture icons ...prohibition doesn't work in this country period.

I did not ask if you feel sorry for people arrested for smoking pot. If you have a Trump pic as avatar, clearly compassion is not your thing. I did ask if you think locking up thousands of people for smoking pot is a good use of the country's resources. Is it worth a federal/state battle. Do you want to pay for all the prisons? Are you willing to have other things cut so the country can pay for all the prisons?

Locking up thousands of criminals for FELONY TRAFFICKING an illegal substance is very much a good use of our resources. What the hell else do we pay taxes to Law Enforcement for? Hand slapping?

Anyone with half a brain can get a Weed Card. I know, because I had a friend who's only crime was that he was guilty of being...shall we say, not so bright. Never arrested for anything, and he was an Eagle Scout, but he wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree.

But even he was smart enough to get a weed card. And he didn't even need weed. All he needed was some counseling and a hug.

 

would be a hard decision. but if i kept them i'd do it knowing i could go to jail if caught. but most likely id move to another country before it got to that point.

 

just about everyone i know smokes pot. so what? i don't, cause it's illegal and i like having a job after drug tests.

 

if society deems it necessary. i don't vote so i could care less, i go with the flow.
