https://www.theatlantic.com/politic...ho-died-at-war-are-losers-and-suckers/615997/ And his supporters will dismiss this as well, I know. Patriots, my ass. History will look on very poorly to his sympathizers. Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’ The president has repeatedly disparaged the intelligence of service members, and asked that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades, multiple sources tell The Atlantic.
How do our Trump supporters on here feel about this? Does your leader speak for you? Do you feel the same?
Beyond disgusting, so were his comments regarding John McCain. I just really can’t believe that people still support this dude and cant help but feel like he should lose literally every single veteran vote, which certainly won’t happen. If you are a veteran and you vote Trump; it’s kind of like you are throwing your entire platoon under the bus. Thank you for your service John; I appreciate you.
Hard to be more anti military than I am. Protested Vietnam war before I was in my teens. When we fought for gay, lesbian and transgender people to openly serve, I said then they should absolutely have the right to serve but should not do so. I don't think troops in Iraq are protecting my freedom, they are protecting profits. World War I was basically about imperial powers dividing the earth. And this disgusts me. This vile narcissist who never cared for anything but his ego and his wealth insulting those who served, who lost life and limb and mind. He is beyond vile. His supporters will say it's fake news, and Nancy Pelosi got a haircut! Tired of winning yet?
Yes, it would be a grave shame if Trump uttered those words. I'm not certain about The Atlantic, though, and Trump did deny saying some things.... https://www.militarytimes.com/news/...ump-disparaged-us-war-dead-as-losers-suckers/ Trump emphatically denied the Atlantic report Thursday night, calling it “a disgraceful situation” by a “terrible magazine.” Speaking to reporters after he returned to Washington from a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Trump said: “I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes. There is nobody that respects them more. No animal — nobody — what animal would say such a thing?” Trump also reiterated the White House explanation of why he didn’t visit the cemetery. “The helicopter could not fly,” he said, because of the rain and fog. “The Secret Service told me you can’t do it. ... They would never have been able to get the police and everybody else in line to have a president go through a very crowded, very congested area.” White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said, “It’s sad the depths that people will go to during a lead-up to a presidential campaign to try to smear somebody.” The senior Marine Corps officer and The Atlantic, citing sources with firsthand knowledge, also reported that Trump said he didn’t want to support the August 2018 funeral of Republican Sen. John McCain, a decorated Navy veteran who spent years as a Vietnam prisoner of war, because he was a “loser.” The Atlantic also reported that Trump was angered that flags were flown at half-staff for McCain, saying: “What the f—- are we doing that for? Guy was a f—-ing loser.” Trump acknowledged Thursday he was “never a fan” of McCain and disagreed with him, but said he still respected him and approved everything to do with his “first-class triple-A funeral” without hesitation because “I felt he deserved it.”
I am not surprised this is your response. Most of it is on fucking video. The freaking Associated Press corroborated all of it.
John McCain was a war hero. I don't care WHAT Trump says about him! He's absolutely wrong about that.
There are many authoritative articles about McCain's character deficiencies. For example, while his crewmates cleaned up in the hours after the huge USS Forrestal fire, he slipped off for a couple of weeks of R&R onshore.
Where is the proof of him calling dead soldiers losers? That accusation seems way over the top. I know his pissing match with McCain is well documented but the rest seems pretty out there.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tr...e-over-disdain-for-slain-veterans-sources-say Trump didn't cancel visit to American military cemetery in France over disdain for slain veterans, sources say The sources said they had never heard Trump call war dead 'losers' or 'suckers' President Trump canceled a planned 2018 trip to a cemetery for American war dead in France because of the weather and not because of disdain for the slain soldiers who are buried there or concern about how the weather would affect his hair, sources told Fox News, despite a report from The Atlantic making that claim. Two sources who were on the trip in question with Trump refuted the main thesis of The Atlantic's reporting -- that Trump canceled a trip to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, which is at the site of Belleau Wood, an important World War I battle, because he believed the dead soldiers to be "losers" and "suckers." The White House had said at the time the decision was made because of poor weather for flying Marine One and the fact that the cemetery was too far a distance for a motorcade to drive. One of the sources who refuted the Atlantic's reporting is not a fan of Trump. Both sources said that Trump was upset about not being able to go to Aisne-Marne and said they had never heard Trump refer to war dead at Aisne-Marne or in the battle of Bellau Wood as "losers" or "suckers."
And yet, somehow Macron and Merkel made it to the cemetery. I wonder how they got there? There's a big clue that these sources are full of shit. barfo
