The government (Trump) isn't going to be enforcing anything here. People will. Personal freedom overly used can be costly.
I don't think he's saying it should be illegal. For some reason he thinks the owners should kick them out. I think Ben Shapiro is right that he is playing to his base in the cultural divide in this country. I barely watch the NFL but this certainly wouldn't make me stop.
Yeah, this is just like people boycotting companies for doing something they don't like. If people wanna follow Trump and skip something they like over this, that's their prerogative.
That's not my point. It seems like the Trumpster believes that strict support of the American flag should be adhered to, or people should lose their jobs, and that's sounding like a very authoritarian approach.
It is, but so is a lot of stuff. People who no call/no show get fired all the time. People who tweet racist shit get fired all the time. He thinks this is a terrible thing (supposedly) but I still think it is virtue signaling to the hard core right wingers.
So, how do you feel about Trump's campaign chairman organizing protests against US Marines in Ukraine? barfo
This thread is indicative of a division in our country not seen for some 160 years. Unfortunately, it demonstrates the likelihood of CWII is a distinct possibility if not certainty. Woe unto us if our political tack should steer the same course for the next few months or years. Especially for those who live in metropolitan areas.
Last I checked this is America and people are free to do what they want during the anthem that is what many people fought and died for. If some of the people here can't see that Trumps tweet, and comments he made during his speech about people "Disrespecting our country and flag" while not acknowledging peoples reason for doing so is to incite outrage by "patriots" and his base you are already a lost cause. How can someone accept those words from a man who avoided the draft 5 times due to "bone spurs", who attacks war vets when they don't "bend the knee" and submit to his will as being un-american is really beyond me. He will continue to divide the US while claiming to try to unite us and we will be worse off because of it. I'm all for civil debate, but when one side is not willing to accept reason and truth, is unable to see through the fog of lies and deceit Trump spews out on a daily basis it makes me sad for them as individuals and our country as a whole. I don't know if I will be back in this section since I, like you am a Blazer fan and would rather be united by that then divided by politics.
