Biden didn't get enough of it done to show any benefit.

Billions for rural broadband and hardly any of it spent due to such crazy red tape requirements in the implementation. Of the dozens of districts who attempted to roll it out only 3 ever got approval. None were actually implemented as far as I've been able to find.

That's the same as lying. It's definitely failing to deliver.

Same on high speed rail. Similar story with household solar. It's nearly impossible to take advantage of the credits if you DIY the install and it costs more (even with credits) to have a contractor install it.

Nearly everything he did had so much red tape blocking it that it's tempting to assume it was just a way for his corporate sponsors to cash in.

I agree with and was excited about nearly all of that legislation. The implementation was absolutely horrible and is probably one of the biggest reasons Trump is president again.

Democrats talk big but rarely deliver (even when they do deliver legislation, it's too full of pork to be effective or to be considered a win).

    That needs to change.

Maybe separate election thread but no one can build complex stuff overnight.

MAGA cares more about Epstein than dying from lack of health care. Maybe because they still don't believe face eating leopards will eat their faces.

Several MAGA influencers quoted as saying can't release Epstein files because it will help Democrats. Oi vey!

They could probably just say it wasn't an actual list, but a threat of one.

I'm not asking for over night. But you can definitely install household solar and approve fiberoptic in every district in 3 years.

You could even have the money allocated into escrow to be released upon specific met deadlines so that it couldn't be cut off.

You could do the same with high speed rail.

3 years isn't overnight. It took years to even be able to get the added credits for more efficient appliances. More than enough time for manufacturers to up their prices enough to eat up all of the credit. And it's often again hard to qualify for if not installed by a contractor.

So there were no savings or incentives to actually do it. It was just a selling point that contractors could use to charge more money.

Absolutely horrible implementation. A lot of people feel taken advantage of.

And Dems wonder why people don't like them?

Like I said, maybe a separate election thread? Biden's biggest problem, he was an institutions list, not a fighter. Kept expecting to return to normal collegial behavior. That model is broken and not coming back.

This is not true. It took the French over 15 years to build one high speed rail from Taipei to Kaoshiung and one power outage in rural Oregon can take weeks to repair if you are over 20 miles from a school district. American rural landscapes have some brutal conditions. Also it took 13 years but I got a grant to install water catchment tanks on my gutters and fireproof my yard. FOR FREE. thanks to democrats infrastructure spending. Credit where credit is due. You talk like someone who lives in the burbs but digging through bedrock has real challenges. My son is a career lineman in California and he laughed at your idea when I asked him about it

It’ll be plenty old by the time anything is resolved but the magnifying glass is now firmly between Trump and The Sun, and his impatience under the heat is making him squirm self-incriminatingly. Which is no bad thing from a “MAGA realizing DJT is a pedo after all” perspective.

    Which idea was that?

California has been working on high speed rail since the 1980s... They still don't have it. Not even a single stretch.

Our terrain is no more difficult than Japan's. They built a 320 mi stretch of high speed rail in 5 years.

your idea, your projected timeline and your idea that the dems have not done anything for infrastructure...no way they solve these issues in 3 years...not even close and not in Japan either. High speed rails today are pretty limited to urban valleys...not mountainous regions..definitely not sparsely populated areas...I think your idealism is sensationalized and I think you're view of the skilled workers that do these jobs is inflated...it's hard to keep enough line crews in fire season alone and the profession has a high turnover rate...it's hard work and extremely time consuming.

I didn't say they had done nothing. I didn't suggest they should all be completed in 3 years.

But stretches to show how successful and beneficial they are should be completed in that timeline.

It's not sensational. That is literally how people view the Democrats. It's a big fucking problem.

I highly suggest you read Abundance for more information on this.

Other governments are able to do this. Making excuses for our inability or lack of desire to get it done is a big part of the problem.

You are assuming Americans will actually use public transportation...this is a car culture unlike most of the world. That's not changing in 3 years either...I'm just being pragmatic, not idealistic. California has not been building a high speed rail for 45 years either...not sure where you got that idea, but it's not based in facts. That's why there's not a stretch of high speed rail. They are having trouble keeping Amtrak afloat as it is...again, public transportation is just not supported by the population here and that's not all on business models...it's just a fact.

    I use BART.
Anyway, I really repeat, let's have two threads, one 2025 elections, one on Epstein. Please?

Does LA have a good transit system?

Los Angeles is home to one of the country's best public transportation networks, including subways, light rail, buses and shuttles that service every corner of the Greater Los Angeles area.

Los Angeles has had mass transit light rail since 1990, when the Metro Rail Blue Line (now the A Line) opened. This line, which runs between Downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach, was the first of several light rail lines to be built in the region. The Blue Line was a significant step in the revival of rail transit in Los Angeles after a period where buses had become the dominant form of public transportation, according to PBS SoCal.

This thread title is about Trump lying. That could breakup into literally thousands of threads. Talk about a broad topic! I apologize if I’ve derailed it by getting off the subject

San Diego and the bay also have public transportation lines but gridlocked roads and horrible congestion which is largely due to people not using the public transit system enough. I’d say New York City has the most mass transit population in the country and largest non driving population in the states
