No but you’re the one that specifically mentioned DDT.

It was a problem, but damned if I know why you would find a worry now.

Speaking of DDT. Clackamas County used to spray the hell out of us with DDT. Mosquitoes be gone though!
I was just looking to see what their Vector control is now. Not much info.
Can anyone may sense of this budget?

Main thing I see is that they haven't updated their budget page for a few years now.

You might need to go to the Bank of Cypress to get the updated versions

Luxury condos are so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

    Only phase 2.

Phase 1 is built on an Indian Burial ground.

Do you have any idea how long it takes to drive from Estacada to downtown Portland during rush hour and then a similar drive home after work? Yes, Estacada is beautiful but not a great place to live if you work in downtown Portland during a weekday during normal business hours. The drive alone eats up most of your free time leaving only enough time to shower, eat and sleep and maybe some shopping.

Yes during traffic hour to down town Portland would be stressful and sacrificing. Its very similar to those that work in NY City, Chicago, SF and even Seattle that cant afford to live close by. Many in those cities do commute to work and back even under crazy traffic situations and time constraints.
My son who's a excavator purchased 10 acres in Estacada so he can have his equipment and office there as it is affordable. Id much rather drive an hour to work each way than not be able to own a home in Portland proper. Besides people waste up to 2 hours a day on the computer or other things.

There are a number of teachers in the Estacada/Sandy school district that comment from parts of Portland. For some Im sure they were not able to gain employment close by and were willing to make the sacrifice?

Hey, that's more than an hour's drive during normal rush hour and quitting time.
Thank God we don't live in New York City or Chicago or San Francisco or even gorgeous Seattle.
If I wanted to live in the country and work in Portland and needed affordable real estate I'd move to the Hillsboro area, perhaps out Farmington road or out in Rock Creek. Still a tough drive but better than Estacada.
Did you know that they have two active murder investigations going on in Estacada?
They also have a deadly stretch of highway out there.

I did hear about the 2 bodies found at a gravel pit.
I spent much of my kid days up the Clackamas & Timothy Lake. I as was in explorer scouts and loved fishing. Still do Timothy Lake a time or two in late spring early summer.
Prices out in Hillsboro and Rock Creek our still way higher than Estacada.

I was a boy scout and before that a cub scout. I also loved fishing but did most of mine on Oswego Lake and Tryon Creek. Later, I did some steelhead fishing in South Western Oregon around Coos Bay.
I remember when I was a little tyke I spent part of a summer in summer camp on the Clackamas river.
We had a guy who worked with me at Tektronix who lived in Banks on a creek. Wow, that was gorgeous. However, that was in the early 70s when traffic was light and he only had to drive down Hwy 26 to Beaverton. Lots of cheap property out there but driving to downtown Portland from there today would be a nightmare.
A couple of the Veterans Transportation Services bus drivers live somewhere near Larch mountain and drive to work at the VA hospital in Portland but they have to spend a lot of time driving and then have ice and snow in the winter to contend with. Now, that's truly God's country.
