    I guess I'd feel more hurt than anything else if either of you got angry with me.

    In the last few days, the journal that published that study has said that it didn't meet their standards. Not that that necessarily means that the drug doesn't work, but this study isn't of much use in proving that it does. [/quiet, soft voice]

    I have to say that you definitely do not know that last part, about the necessary treatment regimen. No one knows that. No one knows whether it is even useful for this at any dosage. It is a fact that it is cheap and has been around awhile. It's also a fact that it can cause heart problems.

    On the first part, my own objection is that the president is way out over his skis on this - he doesn't have any data to show it works, or the ability to interpret that data even if it was available. I don't have anything against the drug itself - maybe clinical trials will prove it useful against covid, maybe not. There's no benefit at all to Trump making an executive decision that it's the right drug, he's not qualified, it's not his job, and he very well might be wrong.

    On the 2nd part, your theory has one small problem - the pharma industry generally is prepared to forego profits on any therapeutic that proves useful against covid.

    Those doses are based on the clinical trials listed on the FDA website. When I get home, I’ll share the actual clinical trial.

    as for my theory... It’s just what I think maybe the reason. Definitely will concede that it’s just a guess.

    Pretty much agree with all of the above. Trump should have simply said that scientists are looking at a number of existing drugs to see if they are useful against covid-19 and can provide us some breathing room until a vaccine can be developed. But then, Trump has never been able to apply an inner filter to control what comes out of his mouth.
