Either Iraq needs to stand up for itself and fight for their democracy or they need a megalomaniac dictator like Sadaam. I don't care which. That's up to them.

Throw a baby in the deep end. Sink or swim. You'd let it drown.

At some point Iraq needs to dive in and save their own babies.

end of 2011 is when about a zillion things happened...the world didn't stop so Obama could destroy the middle east...you need to stop painting our leaders as middle eastern babysitters and see that if you want to be a sovereign nation, you'd better act like one. Time for these little countries to grow up and pay their own bills for a change

Like it or not, Obama was dealt the hand that included the Iraq situation.

The goal, obviously, was to have Iraq stand on its own. Sectarian situations are tricky because a decade of occupation isn't going to make those people forget their history and problems with one another.

We saw it here in the civil war. The North occupied the South for decades to assure blacks got their civil rights. When the occupation ended, Jim Crow followed. The whites didn't forget and took action against the blacks.

We have troops in Germany and Korea for many decades and that's what it took to make those countries able to stand on their own. We are still "babysitting" there, and other places. Iraq isn't unique.

I don't think we needed to fight in Iraq any more, just keep the place stable and pressure on the government to be inclusive. Until it became second nature to the people.

Instead, we saw surrender for a bump in the polls.

Denny is writing an angry letter to the French for not rescuing this lady. Louisiana used to be theirs! Why won't they stay to help?!?

    Just wow.

The numbers don't say what you think they do.

We had 60 and 54 die in 2010 and 2011, out of 140,00 troops. We have more than that many die on base in the US due to accident. Thousands, in fact.

As I already said, we have tens of thousands of troops in Germany and S. korea for the same reason we should have kept troops in Iraq.

Our military under Obama has been more effective and more streamlined than any in history...we're winning the fight against terrorism ....find a chart that shows how many plots against the US have been stopped before they could happen....record numbers. Our country suffers more from these votes of no confidence than anything....and that's just to see a bump in the polls for the opposition party. Donald Trump is the last guy I want making these decisions.

It's just 50 or 60 lives. They would have died anyway in jeep or vending machine accidents.

He got my vote...but because he brought troops home, not because he escalated troop involvement. Again...we have never surrendered....you keep beating that dead horse as if we are a fearful nation...that's your fear..not mine

Russia and its ally, Assad, are winning against ISIS.

How many attacks on US soil after 9/11 and before Obama?

How many since Obama? Please include the ones spun as "workplace violence " by the administration.

You're the one that admits government lies and isn't to be trusted.

He surrendered for a bump in the polls, as I said.

He was against the surge, which worked.

He escalated troop involvement in Afghanistan, a surge of his own, that failed.

    He's clueless.

I'm not afraid of our government...I know what they do...I was a communications specialist for the command station of the 7th fleet...a lot of countries are winning against ISIS....we are winning too. I don't have my list of terrorist killings chronologically or goegraphically organized....that's your job.
