When asked about forging ties by G7 members Trump probably said, " Ties? I've been forging ties and selling them for decades....fabulous ties...red ties, blue ties, striped ties, ties with my picture on them"....I know about ties!

It is a fact that the majority of Crimea's citizens are Russians, born in Crimea before it recently separated from the Soviet Union in 1991. Crimea was a part of the Russian Empire all the way back to 1783.

Once again, President Trump's superior knowledge of world affairs exposes the lies of Fake allies.

Presenting facts against U.S. State Dept. propaganda will get you nowhere in this thread, with its high school level of sophistication. I'm not going to try. Reading this thread reminds me of how many dumbo slaves to the State Dept. are on this board.

    >>> These little points you try to make seem to be self evident in your mind. But I do not think they are at all
The Crimea has not been independent for 27 years. It is populated with Russians. It has been part of Russia for over 300 year. In 1954 the Soviet Union attached the Crimea to the Ukraine
for reason of theirs, but it made little difference since they were both part of the USSR. When Ukraine broke away from the Old USSR 27 years ago, the difference is now real. Damned I want to fight this battle.
I don't think you do either.

    >>> uh! No.

    >>> As I recall, there is no need to take it back. The Chinese already claim it and I think it was Carter that agreed. I spent a considerable amount of time on those campaigns only to have a US
    President give it up anyway.

    >>> uh, No. I imagine the Mexican would seriously reject the idea.

    >>> uh, No. I imagine the Canadians would seriously reject the idea.

    >>> There may be some hidden logic here, hey?

yeah...welcome to modern history...the USSR doesn't exist anymore.....we're also no longer 13 colonies here either...c'mon Marz…..sovereign states can be very young but they are still sovereign states and the Taiwanese do not recognize China as their govt...don't even use the same currency ..have their own army.democratic elections...Taiwan is more interested in economics than war. Heavy investors in mainland China

Yes River my friend. You are right in this this statement about the USSR and the one about current Taiwan today.

But do you know whether the people of Crimea want to be Ukrainian or Russian? I don't for sure but I don't know that they did not get their way, do you?

I my days in Taiwan, quite sometime before you were there, the Taiwan natives did not want US there. They did not want the Chinese there. Did they get democratic elections? Naw
A vote today is a different deal. But in either case, not my fight. Nor is the Crimea.

I've lived and worked in Taiwan under 5 different presidents...democracy kicked in full steam in the 1980s...the KMT under Chiang Kai Shek was brutal and not anything like modern Taiwan...you read Taiwan in the AP press now...before it was always ROC or Chinese Taipei....they have elected 2 DPP pro independence presidents so far and 3 moderates...I know very well the history...they even changed the history books from when my wife was a child....Taiwan is a vibrant democracy...my family there is DPP Taiwanese..not KMT followers..they believe they have won the economic war with the mainland...and are the number one investor in China for business....China does not dictate Taiwans independence...as much as they'd like to. Tsai Ying Wen the current female president is DPP...she has been a great advocate for the country...Jimmy Carter actually screwed Taiwan by having it removed from the UN for Chinese satisfaction

What does that have to do with my response? He didn't know Taiwan was a democracy and I gave him a link that was readily available with a google search. Not knowing now days is being lazy as many answers are a click away.

Probably all true from your view. But the people of Taiwan had no say in the matters. They were swamped by the Chinese. Sort of like the folks in the Crimea. I do not know what they want.
Eisenhower decided for the Taiwanese, that was to help the Chinese swamp them no vote required. Then Carter threw them both (the Taiwanese and the Chinese immigrants) under the bus, no vote required.
I am rather pleased Trump is disinclined to decide for the folks that live in the Crimea. You nor I would have to do shit, but I hate to see the young grunts get spent in someone else's battle

He was speaking of how Taiwan was. Not is.

Your link did nothing to refute what he said.

If that's what he meant then he certainly didn't make it that clear but then again, that's typical of many of his posts. I don't see any relevancy to what was going on 40-50 years ago.

Trump threatened to send 25 million Mexicans to Japan: report

Donald Trump told Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe he could ship 25 million Mexicans to his country and make him lose an election -- one of several odd statements he made at last week's acrimonious G7 meet, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

The Group of Seven summit gathering of top industrialized democracies finished in disarray after the US president abruptly rejected its joint statement and bitterly attacked Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Behind the scenes, Trump's counterparts were dismayed by his verbal jabs on topics ranging from trade to terrorism and migration, the WSJ said, quoting European officials who were present.

At one point, he described migration as a big problem for Europe and said to Abe: "Shinzo, you don't have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and you'll be out of office very soon," creating a sense of irritation in the room, according to an EU official.

The source added that when the topic turned to Iran and terrorism, Trump took aim at French President Emmanuel Macron, saying: "You must know about this, Emmanuel, because all the terrorists are in Paris."

I wonder how many Mexicans Abesan could take in and still have a job?

The are pretty tight over there. No Muslim terrorist attacks in Japan! Read how they do it!
    http://englishdemocrats.party/engli...islamic-terrorism-why-there-is-none-in-japan/

    :cool2: This isn't it!

"Of course, Japan achieved this by some super effective integration policy, through using the most advanced technologies and assigning billions of yen on the building of thousands of mosques and Islamic schools all over Japan, banning pork in all public places, introducing separate hours for boys and girls in swimming pools in all public schools, and Japanese male doctors do not dare touch their female patients,Muslim women get immense social aid each time they have a child, Shari´a courts were introduced in the judicial system of Japan, and the Koran is considered a Holy Book in Japan…"
