How do you think the oil is 'coming our way'? We buy Saudi oil, they don't give it to us. And if they lower the price for us, guess what - that puts American oil workers out of a job. 40% of our oil comes from here at home. barfo
I'll be completely honest with you...I had no idea that Canada was our main oil daddy. I mean....Canada? Really? I actually had to look that shit up. I knew there were strong oil reserves up there, but I had no idea they were that good. But when I did, I found an article that might explain, in part, this deal... https://howmuch.net/articles/oil-imports-gif-15-years Perhaps this is an attempt from Saudi Arabia to win back some economic ground? And I have to wonder if the next step would be to attempt to reestablish their oil supremacy with the West.
This Muslim Lady, Dr. Qanta Ahmed is a strong supporter of the reformation of Islam. I believe she also thinks the American President, Donald Trump will be a big help in getting it started. From my studies of religion, I think it will essential to begin the reformation of Islam and if Mr. Trump can help it begin, it will be the blessing of this Century. I fear the alternative will be one hell of a war that in many ways is already upon us. Hopefully it is not too late.
I guess I should have said "reestablish economic relations with the West". I have to imagine a $100 Billion deal of any sort would be a good start to that.
......... I think this was an attempt by the Saudis to reestablish economic trust with the West so that they can try and build back up their oil supremacy in the West. Their oil economy has shrunk significantly over the past decade, so I think they'll try to change that.
Sure, what harm could come of selling the Saudi's a 100B weapon system. It's not like saudi's have been envolved in terrorism
I'm attempting to speak from THEIR point of view. I'm not saying I agree with the deal. I don't. Quite frankly, if we stopped all economic relations with the middle east and let the entire place go to waste, it wouldn't break my heart at all.
Or perhaps at least stopped all arm sales. By the way, that's for friends and foe over there since it seems like everybfew yeats the friends become foes.
I'm not happy about arming other nations or freedom fighters, period. But if arming the Saudis gets us out of fighting over there, it's at least a win in that sense. At least the Saudis are paying us instead of freeloading like the rest of the world.
