Automation and having jobs stay in the US doesn't even equate to the same thing. Everything in the future will be automated regardless, you should understand considering your a damn automated Democratic bot. The point is, at least they are keeping jobs in America instead of outsourcing to other countries. (which they would automate too). The constitution calls for a post office. But you do seem to make my point - that the private sector is superior to what the public sector tries (and fails 99.9% of the time) to do. It also calls for establishing foreign relationships, raising the military, etc., too. It doesn't call for welfare, public schools, massive government agencies with abusive powers that are head and run by unelected officials, etc. In fact, it denies the government the power to implement those things. I have understanding of why YOU would want to be part of an authoritarian society (spying on the people, mandates). That said, you do have the freedom to associate but please don't force me to associate with any cause I don't want to. Even worse, you choose to be part of an authoritarian organization that fixes elections against its own more popular candidates. Why bother voting? You should just let the DNC choose for you (which they basically did).

I've always thought that Libertarians/Randroids who rant on about how "demeaning" welfare is and how it "creates dependency" should be huge fans of the inheritance tax. Free the kids of rich parents from demeaning dependency on their parents' money! Also: if you're so opposed to dependency, then free government healthcare and excellent education should be a must so that you are not trapped in poverty and forced to prostitute yourself to The Man doing unskilled labor.

Mine is a world in which when my policy preferences (marriage equality, say, or pot legalization, deregulation of business, and the like) actually get implemented, people immediately incorporate them into the status quo and then keep working to maintain whatever other repressive laws they prefer. It's a world in which Democrats who just yesterday were lauding Barack Obama's robust (read: unconstitutional) expansion of executive power are now shitting their pants, even as Republicans are putting on fresh diapers and getting excited about Donald Trump's ability to use his "pen and a phone" to get stuff done. ... I want to live in a world that's even more devoid of racism, sexism, and xenophobia. I work for criminal justice reform, educational opportunity for all, open borders, drug legalization, and many other goals upon which I suspect we agree. But as Reason columnist Andrea O'Sullivan (nee Castillo) put it, "Are the Trump people behind this?" The MTV video bespeaks a mind-set that is less interested in real change than it is in distancing itself from any sort of critical examination of why progressive ideas are so incredibly unpopular.
