If you can jump through those hoops, the government will consider you for undercover promotion to Editor-in-Chief of a rough Off-Topic message board full of killers, thieves, and general vagrants rated at 50% moron level...without you even knowing that they put you there.

food implies nutritional value or taste. Chow generally is missing at least one.

    But that should've been "shelter"

It was a Lebanon crisis as I recall, the entire 7th fleet was assembled mid Pacific to await new developments. We had put bunch of Marines and Army troop in Lebanon and everyone expected the crap to fill the gap! Damnedest show of the Navy I had seen at that time. We mustered on deck one morning, there were 6 Aircraft carriers in sight, 10 Cruisers, and too many Destroyer to count. I suspect there were more Destroyers than exist in the US Navy today, as we had over 200 total in those days. I doubt any missed the rendezvous, as this was an all hand on deck deal. Anyway we remain in area several days, waiting for developments when the Chinese began shelling Quemoy. A Nationalist held Island near the mainland from Taiwan or Formosa as it was call in that day. So the Shangri La and the Essex were dispatch to the scene which included my ship as part of the Shangri La Battle group.

As I recall, this was early July of that year, and we had gone to sea from Yokuska for an exercise that was to be just a few days. The orders came to head for the rendezvous while at sea, so we were in no way provisioned for extended sea duty. So by the time we got to the Formosa Strait, we had been at sea for a month with no end in sight. Not nearly enough supply ships in the 7th fleet to meet with all these ships.

Damn! Chow got so thin, the weevils in the bread looked good! Shit on shingle would have been very welcome.

We finally got relieved, to return to Yokuska in October, but we had to stop at the first port possible to get provisions, Kagoshima before continuing on to Yokuska.

Naw! I have to be wrong about the number of Destroyers rendezvousing. We probably only had 40 to 45 total in the 7th fleet.

That's a lie your MSNfakenewscrew, and the liars Schumer/Pelosi... throw out because they know libs believe anything they say.

They have 51 senators and they need 60 votes to pass the budget.

Doesn't anyone study how our government works in middle school or high school at least.

Public schools used to be worth something.

According to media reports, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) invited the 192 Democrat Members of the House of Representatives out to dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C. Saturday during the first day of the government shutdown.

Politico’s Jake Sherman was first to report on Pelosi’s dinner.

The Hill’s Scott Wong reported the menu, “On the menu at Pelosi’s dinner at Acqua al 2: cheeses and meats, pasta, lots of wine and for dessert … cheesecake with strawberry drizzle & tiramisu”

Acqua Al 2, located blocks from the Capitol, describes itself as “an authentic Italian restaurant located in the heart of the historic Eastern Market in Washington, DC.” The menu is not cheap and not the most expensive either for D.C., but dinner for two would put a hurt on a working couples’ budget with dinner entrees running from $18 to $39, not including drinks, appetizers and dessert.

Military families blasted Pelosi for living it up while soldiers are going without due to the shutdown.

“Hi @NancyPelosi Can my @USArmy daughter go? For some reason she’s not getting a paycheck and illegals get more support from dems then she does…personally I think its idiotic to hold up military paychecks… The play with high explosives…”

“Wow. My Son in the military gets screwed and she celebrating? What has this country coming to?”

“My son (deployed in Middle East) and daughter are both serving our Country, with honor, without pay… enjoy your dinner…”

White Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also attacked Pelosi, as did Ashlee Strong, National Press Secretary for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Sanders wrote, “Nancy Pelosi is “very proud” Democrats shut the government down over illegal immigration and is taking Democrats out tonight to celebrate. Nice message to send to the brave men & women of our military and border patrol forced to work without pay during the #DemocraticShutdown”.

Strong wrote, “The person who said recently that a couple thousand $$ in Americans’ pockets was mere “crumbs” is now taking the entire D caucus to a very nice restaurant on Capitol Hill.”

Ryan’s Deputy Press Secretary, Molly Edwards, also chimed in, “Surely this isn’t true. Surely Leader Pelosi isn’t taking her grandstanding caucus to an extremely nice dinner while the government is shut down and most of its employees are furloughed. Right?

Former Trump administration official Dr. Sebastian Gorka commented, “The Left is celebrating. Because they love illegals. And not our military. SHAMEFUL”

Is this the Democrats’ ‘Let them eat cake’ moment?

I read these and normally think wow, if only dems and republicans put as much time as they do arguing into other shit that matters, this country could be a better place. Blinded by the party system. Lost tribes more like it. Seems so fun...

When pelosi finally gets booted from her spot she strikes me as the type to throw out sexual assault claims just for attention. I hope she chokes on a piece of steak.
