Top 6 2 for 16, not Girardis fault, prime reliever chokes up with two out give up three runs, not Girardis fault. sorry folks these players are paid to deliver. I've bashed the big man many times but he has pitched well only to see his position players fail to show. As I always like to say the pitcher got more support from his cup than his team mates.

That call strike three on Gardner was low. Not that it makes much of a difference.
The low strike zone has become an issue with UMPS blowing alot of them and creating problems with batters getting ejected and MLB has promptly addressed the situation.
Next season they're going to redefine the zone to be "slightly above" the knees which should prod the umps into giving up on anything close to being BELOW the knees.

The umpiring all over the league has been terrible. I was watching Boston vs Toronto on Saturday and the home plate ump was a complete abortion. Computers will be calling balls and strikes soon enough.

This offense is absolutely fucking dreadful.
I'm being very serious when I say Girardi (or any other mgr in a similar position) should just let it hang out, make an open gesture to try and take pressure off and just pick a lineup out of a hat for two or three games in a row.
Make it understood that it isn't the end of the world.

If he wants to "play it safe" and cover his ass somewhat, he can put Tex or Arod or Beltran in the middle of the lineup. But I think it should be done....and I think it will at least clear out some stale air.

This loss is on offensive failure (2nd inning 2 on 0 out 1 run) and Dellin choking with two out. The way this team is hitting Toronto may have been able to end it 2-1.

Disagree Michael, Girardi had ABSOLUTELY no reason to remove CC. pitching a great game on only 80 pitches, what more could a manager want.

...^^^I think his point was that since the Yanx offense took another powder it probably would not have mattered if CC pitched another inning or not.

Yes....it will come to that and it could be and should be sooner than later.
    The technology is already there.

We've discussed before after a horrible strike three call/3rd out on a Yankee batter late in the game with
tying and lead runners in scoring position.
I suggested maybe they should make it a reviewable play......ONLY from the 8th inning on, when the questionable K call is the 3rd out and the tying or lead run is left in scoring position.
MLB should do all it can to prevent an obvious bad call to stand in the absolute most crucial points of games.
Such as the Big Papi fiasco earlier at Yankee Stadium....two bad calls on same at bat.

Give each team one review per game only under those circumstances.
They already have both the ground level camera and looking downward over home plate, is this enough to overturn a strike three called below the knees or whether or not a pitch was off home plate?
I think so- let headquarters make the call just like on other reviews.

Yeah if CC would have gotten out of the inning the Yankees lame offense would have found a way to lose as this was the league leading 22nd time in 51 games that they scored 2 runs or less.

    Still questionable.
Girardi used one of his best relievers when his SP's pitch count was fine and hadn't yet allowed a run since the fourth inning.
"With the leadoff double, I thought we needed a strikeout," Girardi said. "We got it, and he got the next guy out. Unfortunately a walk and a couple of base hits later it's 4-1."
Lost in the shuffle is the Yanks not having a day off for another 12 days.

Typical miserable loss, and while this Yankee team doesn't look like it can beat anyone, they are now 8-19 vs Toronto since last year, 4-11 since last September, 2-6 this year.
The Jays should put the Yanks on their Christmas list.
Just to round things out, Yanks 5-12 this year vs Boston, Baltimore and Toronto.
How 'bout a round of applause ...

...yeah, I was trying to remember who it was who posted that stat earlier...that's just terrible.

...it's so bad that even when someone like Headley has started hitting a little better lately, it is overshadowed by the others failing to produce...

...guess it's time to fire the hitting coach, again? ...I mean that must be the problem and therefore must be the solution. :blazerwookie:
