If it isn't too late and the wall mount has fabric pull cords to release the tv.....I recommend taking a key ring and installing it on the end of the cords so they are easier to pull for future removals. The cloth straps on my costco bought mount were almost impossible to grab when the tv was installed.
I got rid of the TV 10 years ago, to have time to read every smoking word on the S2 board. Anyone who owns a TV must not be a loyal S2er.
How do you view the internet? If you use a laptop you can also get a long HDMI cable and use your new TV as a monitor.
If your desktop is near the TV and your computer's video has multiple outputs you can use the TV as a 2nd monitor. Also if you have a Samsung phone you can display whatever is on your phone on the TV, kinda cool for looking at pictures you took on your phone. Do you have Netflix? There are some shows that are going to look amazing on 4K.
If you have a 300 baud modem you can send ascii art like this to the line printer at the computer center. barfo
SeskDes in next room. I have a brand x phone. Honestly, not interested in Netflix et Al. I have certain programs I watch plus sports. I will explore what is available but don't want to spend retirement in front of TV. It's for entertainment and information, not my lifestyle.
What size and model did you get if you give me the model i can maybe get you some calibration numbers to calibrate the picture.
When did you buy your Samsung? Some of the older Samsungs had a power supply problem that I am intimately familiar with. They used electrolytic capacitors that were erroneously specified. You've got to replace them wtih electrolytics with a higher voltage specification. It's an easy task. There's even a youtube video showing exactly what to do. That problem was corrected with Samsungs newer than four or five years ago.
I bought a 28inch samsung monitor to add to my pc (only 1080p), and its got by far the best picture of any screen in our house. Which includes 5 other monitors, a 4k tv and other 4k devices. I cannot believe how good the picture on that thing is... Its crazy. Anyways was it a manufacturing error or a design flaw?
Cool I'm such a nerd that I used to know all the askii keys in hex including the capital letters and numbers.
Unfortunately didn't find any calibration settings for that model. Was the 5 series significantly higher as it's a full 1080p set where as yours is 720p. Not a huge deal with a 32" set though but the 5 series is definitely a step up. Enjoy your new set.
Nah that's fine for now. Toss it in a few years and go bigger. I was just looking at the frys promo codes and there were 75s for way under a grand. I think I paid 1400 or so for my 65 a few years ago at costco. I'd go buy something bigger now but I'm saving that money for changing to 4k on my projector. God of War on 1080p 135 inches is crazy fun as it is.
