Doesn't it seem like a huge changing of the guard is happening? Curry didn't make the playoffs, LeBron and Durant about to get swept, and meanwhile the Thunder and Magic are romping and Anthony Edwards is suddenly the best US player. Let the Wemby era begin!
Curry, Durant and LeBron should put their heads together and work out a way that they can all play on the same team next season. Then we can watch them lose in the play-in, and they can fuck off into the sunset.
Now Dame has a strained Achilles..Jimmy Butler is injured as the playoffs begin...times they be a changin'!
that might be a bit deceptive. Of the 9 teams still alive in the playoffs, the average age rank: 2 Oklahoma City Thunder* 23.4 4 Orlando Magic* 24.0 11 Indiana Pacers* 25.3 16 Cleveland Cavaliers* 26.2 18 New York Knicks* 26.4 19 Dallas Mavericks* 26.5 20 Denver Nuggets* 27.1 21 Minnesota Timberwolves* 27.2 25 Boston Celtics* 28.2 so, 6 of the 9 teams are in the 'older' half of the league, suggesting experience still counts. I'm not sure how that compares to previous seasons, but there may really be a significant shift occurring.
I honestly find the so-called superstars to be a boring watch. Zero interest in any GSW, LAC, LAL, MIA, PHX players, except Booker. No more fucking Curry shimmies, Dame time, the Claw, the beard, LBJ complaining LAL don’t get calls, etc. Stick a fork in em. Theys done.
i was thinking today that whoever signs Paul George to a max or near max contract is going to regret it.
This is why I was always super nervous about trying to build a winner around Dame, you just don't see guys over 32 leading a teams to a title except MJ/LBJ.
This is starters though. Your average of a roster is very deceptive as guys 9-15 on the roster are nearly irrelevant.
that's just a theory though my guess is that the average age of the last bottom 5 or 6 guys on a roster is pretty young. Look at Portland: Kris Murray 23 Duop Reath 27 Ashton Hagans 24 Rayan Rupert 19 Justin Minaya 24 Ibou Badji 21 the average age is 23 when the team average is over 24. And the Blazers have rookies who are 27, 24, and 23. Those are old rookies. Teams aren't often willing to pay 32 year old veterans who get scale for being 9 or 10 year veterans to sit on the bench
