Hahaha, that reminds me of these ridiculous joke Sherdog/Shitdog threads.

"Watch the replay on mute/black and white/slow motion with 3-d glasses upside down."
"Watch the replay with Stairway to heaven playing backwards"
"Watch the replay with etc etc etc"

I actually did watch the first 2 rounds muted, and with whenever there was an exchange I slowed it down to 1/4 speed to see how many punches/kicks landed or grazed in a quick exchange.

Shogun got the better shots, and more of them from what I saw in the first, and the 2nd it was closer, but edge to Shogun as well.

    Ah, ok.

Yeah, I don't have the patience to slow it down. I just muted it. I would've scored it for Machida, but we're getting a rematch, so I'm good.

Well like I said before, I can't score the fight for Machida, but I'm not as antsy-pantsy/whiny about it as some other people, because there is a re-match coming anyway. Both guys are top guys, and I enjoyed watching the first fight anyway, so I look forward to a re-match.

I just have it mentally noted, just like Bisping-Hamill that I have Hamill as the winner, that Shogun won the first one. As well say Bas-Randleman that Randleman actually won. (although Bas walked away with the belt)

I'll watch it again. I don't recall Shogun getting any memorable shots in those first few rounds and I felt Machida got the better of the exchanges.

Speeds brought up a good point there should be more 10-10 rounds and this fight probably should have ended in a draw.

That Hamill/Bisping travesty was the worst thing I've ever seen.

I was really impressed by Shogun. He might officially be back. I wish Rampage didn't retire, I'd love a rematch between the two.

I'm thinking that the Pride system of damage throughout the whole contest would probably be better. It was clear that Shogun wore down Machida more than Machida wore down Shogun.

Here is a gif showing Lyoto body knee, and one of Shogun's body kicks followed by a punch.

lol, I'm going to quote from sherdog, it probably should work:

    yep it worked.

Because it seems a lot of you guys think Machida won, here is a rare sherdog thread that someone is making that case.

I haven't seen the fight since I saw it live. I'll admit, I thought Shogun got robbed really badly when it happened, but after seeing the argument for Machida's victory I think the fight was actually a lot closer than it appeared live. The rematch is gonna be good though and I hope both guys come out looking to finish. Interested to see if Shogun coming into the rematch with more desperation to finish plays into Machida's favour or does Shogun just fuck him up out of pure anger and rage.

There will be a quick rematch because the fans would rather see Lyoto/Shogun II than any other fight for Machida. A Rampage/Machida fight might have sold tickets, but that is off the table for now. I seriously doubt that there is much enthusiasm for another Evans fight.

It would be if Machida didn't need surgery, as was announced today. His hand got messed up in the fight.

Rematch postponed until Q1 of 2010 at the earliest.

Also, Josh Neer has been cut following is ineffective effort against Gleison Tibau at this event.

Neer is a scrapper who is an easy pick-up for Strikeforce, IMHO. But they don't seem too keen on building their talent roster lately.
