Yeah Lytle got robbed BIG time. So did Leben, but he got it made up for with his FOTN award. However, I can't argue with Brock getting it. That was literally the SOTN because nobody in that building expected that.
Brock won me over tonight and he proved he can take a punch. I'm going to do my best to not hate the guy. He was very humble and showed great respect for Carwin after the fight. I knew Brock was going to win after Brock recovered. I think it was very obvious Carwin blew his load. He wasn't smart with his Ground and pound, he landed some solid shots, but he also hit Brock's massive forearms non-stop. Great fight, I expect Carwin to get a rematch after a few wins. I don't see anybody else in the HW division stopping him. He should get the winner of Roy Nelson and Junior Dos Santos. Leben/Sexyama was good. Sexyama looked horrible after the 1st round or so...not horrible, but gassed. I don't know where the hell his conditioning was, but that was pathetic. Awesome sub by Leben. I wonder what the judges had the fight scored up to the stoppage, I had it 2-1 Leben. That 3rd round was some of the best off-the back fighting I've seen. Matt Brown got fucking tooled. Bonnar/Polish Experiment was another good one, but again, no gas tank. I felt like I was watching a TUF fight.
What doesn't make any sense to me is why Brock is so afraid of getting hit when he can clearly take a shitload in.
^he is still used to the WWE days.. retreat, goes on his back, and take some shots while the crowd counts up to 10 well in this case maybe 50!
Weak fight by Brock IMO, he lost 1st round and got lucky with a choke in the 2nd round. I don't think Carwin even took a punch haha, weak loss by him as well. I want a REMATCH!!!
Carwin destroys guys when it gets into dirty boxing, because fighting back creates openings for those vicious uppercuts. Brock looked scared at the time to take those shots, covering up like he did. But in retrospect maybe it was all strategy. Maybe he just figured, "Do what it takes to make it to round two. Carwin isn't used to long fights. Just take as many of those shots as I can on the arms." For a guy as egotistical and macho as Brock comes across, it's hard to believe it was his strategy to just cower like that. Did he set aside the macho persona to fight the smart fight? Or did he just get really lucky? Thankfully, we'll probably find out in the inevitable re-match.
Not everybody is like Chris Leben. And I'm sure Brock doesn't consider getting punched in the face one of his biggest assets.
I dunno if any of you are reformed wrestling fans but seeing Paul Heyman, JR, Stone Cold (or as Goldy called him, Coldstone, way to go Goldy), The Rock, and several other guys in the crowd hugging Brock after the fight was pretty cool.

Dana White all but nixed a matchup of Leben/Wanderlei in the post fight presser. Leben wants to do TUF against Wandy and then fight him, but Dana pretty much said that was unlikely. I think that'd be one hell of a fight and Dana is fuckin' stupid if he doesn't make that fight happen.
The problem is Wandy is out for six+ months due to his knee surgery. Dana will probably have Leben fight in the meantime but down the road I could see this fight happening.

Anyone know the name of Sexyama's walkout song? It was so familiar but I couldn't put on finger on the name or what opera it's from.
