Re: UFC 119: Mir vs. Cro Cop (Sept. 25th)

Terrible rumour: Cro Cop has an eye injury and rather than cancel his fight (tanking the PPV), the UFC may wait until the PPV has started to announce the fight isn't happening.

I think that is very possible. There seems to be a lot coming out of this injury. People will not buy Lil Nog/Bader.

I don't think the UFC would do that to the fans, though? I know they want to make money...but come on...that is just fucked up.

Yeah it is a major dick move, hopefully they wouldn't stoop to that.

The UFC should just take the loss and not ruin their rep, it wasn't the greatest main event to begin with anyways.

Awful card. Thank God for Lytle/Serra and Sherk/Dunham

Frank Mir is never going to be a title contender, again. As long as a wrestler holds the belt, he's fucked.

CC needs to retire. That shit was so pathetic tonight.

Kind of what was expected, a few great fights and a few bad ones making for a mixed bag. Having two bad fights end the night puts a damper on everything.

Melvin Guillard and Jeremy Stevens was a major let down.

And Jon Jones would tear Bader a new one, me thinks.

Re: UFC 119: Mir vs. Cro Cop (Sept. 25th)

    Thoughts...

Sean McCorkle seems like a cool dude and he looks to be a solid fighter.
Thiago Tavares was excited to have saved his job vs. the greenhorn Audinwood.
Matt Mitrione is a great fighter if you like guys who throw caution to the wind. Dunno how he'd fare against an elite HW striker.
Joey Beltran is a tough SOB but is not terribly skilled.
Melvin Guillard's jab-and-jump victory wasn't what the UFC was expecting when they matched him up with Stevens. However the UFC only rewards winners for the most part so what do they expect?
Fuck CB Dolloway. The dude has one move in his repertoire.
Sean Sherk got back to his old self tonight. I thought he won the fight as well. Dunham is a good prospect and I don't think this loss will hurt him any.
Chris Lytle vs. Matt Serra was a wildly entertaining brawl.
Ryan Bader vs. Nogueira was pretty awful.
Frank Mir stalled, Mirko Cro Cop didn't give a shit. Terrible main event.

Very surprised Lytle/Serra didn't get FOTN.

    And Dunham got screwed.

Well the main event sucked ass.

What was up with Mirko not throwing any head kicks? Mir couldn't get a takedown for his life and they were just exchanging smalls jabs here and there throughout the fight.

The fight could've went either way imo, lil nog or bader. I actually thought lil nog was going pull that one out. Im with you when I think JJ will tear apart Bader.

I thought Bader won the fight, 29-28. I do not, for the life of me, understand how the fuck all 3 judges scored it 30-27.

A lot of complaining going on about this one but...

    Mitrione/Beltran was great
    Dollaway/Doerksen was great
    Tavares/Audinwood was great
    Sherk/Dunham was great
    Serra/Lytle was great
    McCorkle/Hunt was great

That's 6/9 fights being really good.
