Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) I actually don't have a problem with him asking for a little more cash to step in on short notice against a guy that he's already dominated. Why risk your standing in the LHW picture if there is no extra incentive?
Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) Seems like more of an excuse than anything. Besides, he quicker he works through his current contract the sooner he can sign a new, bigger one.
Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) Why would he get a bigger contract? I don't think he's worth what he used to be worth. A few losses on his record have really hurt him. And Dana's got all the chips in terms of negotiating. Where is Machida gonna go? Strikeforce? Nope, Zuffa owned. Every other league, including Bellator, is B-level.
Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) Kind of doubt turning down this main event will help him make more money, if that is what he is after.
Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) This card is kinda whack now, I am interested in seeing Rory Macdonal and Gustafsson fight, thats pretty much it. I guess Nam Phan vs Mike Brown could be a good one too. I dunno, maybe its because I haven't followed MMA as closely these last few months, but it seems a lot of the cards haven't been as interesting.
Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) Rivera/Sakara canceled for the third time now, IIRC. Rivera fights Philippou instead.

Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) He's won one fight in five years and he's brimming with confidence!
Re: UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz 2 (Aug. 6th) Four years since Ortiz and Evans last fought. Since, Ortiz is 1-3 and Evans 5-1 with a championship. Did you know that all of Rashad Evans' fights have been stateside? 17/17 in the USA.

Nice performance by Evans. Showed how much he'd improved since they fought last. The finish was reminiscent of his win over Forrest Griffin. Kudos to Ortiz for not making excuses (other than saying he fought on short notice--fair enough). Nice performance by Belfort but both of the punches (stun & finish) were kind of hard to see. Just grazed the top of Akiyama's head and then kind of slipped one in before belting the back of Akiyama's head at the finish. Something like the Franklin finish. Dunno where Belfort goes from here. Ebersole is a killer! His G&P was devastating. Unassuming/silly-looking guy but a possible noise-maker at welterweight. Speaking of which, Rory MacDonald is getting goooood. Finishing Pyle is a nice feather in his cap. His competition should ramp up even more now. Gustafsson is great, too. Finishing Hamill is no small feat (despite the fact it seems he has a breaking point that a few guys have exploited now). The loss to Davis aside, his UFC career has been auspicious. Great show overall.
Loved the Evans fight. Rashad is by far my favorite fighter, and he pretty much dominated the whole fight. Tito almost caught him, but it was good to see Rashad get in the ring after his long layoff. I'm excited to see him fight Jones or Rampage. Hopefully he gets Rampage so all my buddies who hate Rashad and love Rampage can get shown again, that Rashad is better than Rampage. Speeds, any chance you can grab a gif of Rashad slamming Tito into the mat?
Who do you think Macdonald will fight next? do you guys think it'll be a small step up, perhaps someone like ellenberger? or a bigger step, maybe someone like Kampmann?
