Re: UFC 149: Faber vs. Barão [tonight!]

Ryan Jimmo's 7-second knockout of Anthony Perosh ties the (contested) record held by Todd Duffee.

Urijah Faber suffered a broken rib in the first round of his fight with Renan Barao but he soldiered through it to finish the fight.

Faber is the MAN. I love the California Kid! Barao is a good kid too.

I don't think it will make a difference but next time an event loses all five of the PPV fights for whatever reason they should cancel or postpone. Keeping this as a PPV was a mistake. It was a bad night for new fans in Calgary and whoever might've decided to watch UFC for the first time. Basically they were banking on getting lucky with the fights they scraped together. Can't bank on luck.

    http://mmajunkie.com/news/31202/mat...ded-following-positive-ufc-149-drug-tests.mma

Following July's UFC 149 event, welterweight Matt Riddle was flagged for marijuana while featherweight Francisco Rivera tested positive for an undisclosed over-the-counter stimulant, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from multiple sources close to the event.

Both fighters were suspended for 90 days retroactive to the July 21 event, which makes them eligible to fight on Friday. The results of their respective bouts were not changed.
