So I saw some of Taleb/Silva. Taleb looked good. Erick Silva will go down either as one of the most overhyped or the biggest underachiever. Never should've left Wallid.

Speaking of which! Thatch lost again. Where have all the prospects gone? Siyar is a journeyman at this point. Bad loss for Thatch.

The next three fights were bad so w/e.

Holm/Tate-- if you scripted this fight, this is how it goes-- Holm tries to keep it standing does damage with strikes. Tate gets a takedown and works for dominant position. The second (?) round was all Tate but Holm was so strong in the third it looked like that was how the fight was going to play out. Props to Tate for (another) gutsy performance. This may accelerate the return of Ronda Rousey. Shame. The momentum in the division might grind to a halt, again.

Main event was awesome. Both guys going 100%. McGregor looked great. Diaz was getting beat up. Right jab left straight combo later and McGregor didn't recover.

McGregor DIDN'T lose his belt so he can still fight Aldo at UFC 200. RDA/Diaz should be next I guess. I love anarchy like this. Fighting is no fun when it's predictable.

Should add that I thought McGregor was excellent for hanging around for the post-fight interview and also for humbly congratulating Diaz. Shows more about his character than his everyday bravado.

I think the main event started at close to 11 (Mountain Time). Long show. Hard to believe I used to watch every single fight. Too much.

Is it possible to like Conor even more? He is so damn humble. He just admitted to going into panic mode.

    My thoughts:

Holm/Tate: Tate had an incredible victory and I'm happy she gets to hold the belt for a little bit. I think this is what the big wigs at the UFC wanted, however. Now, they can give Ronda her title shot. They can market it as Ronda's comeback and the trilogy fight, etc... blah blah blah... Ronda has whipped Tate twice. This is the perfect set up for Ronda to make a come back @ UFC 200 if she wants to. Holm is a great person, but she is so vanilla, she doesn't sell. She's too soft spoken, too plain. Their is genuine hatred between Ronda and Tate. I expect Ronda/Tate and Holm/Zingano.

Conor/Nate. The size difference was apparent. Conor landed some flush shots in the first round and the start of the second round that absolutely would have put 145'ers and 155'ers out. Nate was able to walk through them and find his range. I think Conor can have great success at 145 and 155; however, I feel as if 170 is too much for him to bite off. Nate fought an incredible fight once he settled in. Its awesome that he finally got his chance. He's a huge fan favorite and he deserved this fight. I really hope DFW sets him up with a title shot @ 170 just as if he would have for McGregor. Nate/Robbie is pure fire works.

McGregor was so humble in defeat, it was awesome. I've always felt his loud mouth arrogant persona was bravado to sell tickets and make money. He's always been humble after a fight and it continued even in defeat. He was very critical of himself, even stated he panicked. You don't see a lot of A list superstars do that. He admitted the size may have been too much for him and that maybe he's best suited for 145 and 155. Can you really hate on that? He admitted to gassing. For me, that was the one thing I noticed. He seemed extremely gassed in the 2nd round. Carrying 25 extra lbs is a lot of weight to carry. I hope he goes back to 145 and knocks Aldo the fuck out again.

Speaking of Aldo, he's a fucking pussy. How the fuck are you going to go on twitter and call Conor out and call him a pussy? He knocked you the fuck out in 13 fucking seconds you fucking cock sucker. You had a chance to fight on tonight's card and you didn't take it. Your whole "any time, any place, any where" quote was pure bullshit. You cried like a fucking bitch after you got KTFO in 13 seconds. Fucking cock sucker.

^ You might notice the UFC has scaled up the minimum payouts slightly to 10-12-14-16.

Conor McGregor's $1,000,000 disclosed purse is the most in UFC history for a base salary (no win bonus).

He will reportedly make over $10,000,000 from the fight which is likely a new record. GSP's UFC 129 salary might come close given the enormous gate and high buyrate.

UFC 196 was "trending" or some bullshit to sell well over 1-million PPV's which is huge. There is a chance it out-sold the UFC 100 buyrate of about 1.6-million.

It was awesome watching Tate win last night. I'm happy for her, she finally won the title, which after Rousey - Tate 2 seemed like an unreachable goal for cupcake.

Conor was landing some nasty punches to Diaz and he wasn't dropping like the FW's have. He still had a decent showing, but still showed us if you take him down, a submission is there for the taking.

It surprises me how many haters Conor truly has. Facebook is full of them right now. The guy was extremely humble in defeat, and anyone who thought he would be a Ronda obviously haven't been paying attention to him.
