Luke made $250k to fight MB and a share of the 380,000 PPV's purchased, so gross coming close to $1-million for his last fight. Going back to $70/$70 with a minor Reebok payout probably sounds unappealing but the same fate befell TJ Dillashaw and Johny Hendricks. Without the belt you make a lot less.
Jack Tunney was right: if The Ultimate Warrior can't fulfill the obligations of both world titles, neither can McGregor.
Yeah, if he doesnt want to relinquish, then fight aldo first. If he wants to gradually go back down, relinquish, fight alvarez, and win or lose, people will still want to see conor aldo 2. So he could fight for the belt at that point.
I say let him fight Alvarez first and let Aldo fight Holloway. The fact that Aldo is a interim champ is ridiculous, there was no need for that belt. Winner of Aldo/Holloway gets McGregor at the Super Bowl card.
New York native Aljo Sterling wants to face Rafael Assuncao or Michael McDonald at this event. Strange the UFC hasn't already booked him.
On Thursday, Marcos Rogerio de Lima (14-3-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) said on his social media accounts that he has been booked for a light heavyweight fight against Gian Villante (14-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC) at the event. UFC officials have not formalized the booking, however.
Evans/Kennedy is official. Sounds like the kind of fight they might make the Fight Pass Prelims "Main Event"
That sucks but I'm sure they'll find a good replacement. Plenty of guys who normally wouldn't fight Cowboy might on this big a card.
Khabib will jump to 170 to face Cowboy. Something tells me this isn't the fight the UFC is looking for.
