    Few thoughts on the event...

I didn't watch any of the preliminaries but I guess Cathal Pendred won the Diego Sanchez Decision of the Night. I'm seeing some people online having him down in all three rounds.

I've written about this before but Gleison Tibau has reached an interesting plateau in his UFC career. Despite not sniffing a title shot he's had 24-fights in the UFC (third most, I think). Tibau is a good fighter to have around since you can throw him in with a prospect like Parke to see where his development is at.

Uriah Hall looked super relaxed against the jabroni they brought in to fight him. Hard to glean anything from that fight except that Hall does well against TUF-level competition.

Cerrone/Henderson was not as good as their first fight but better than their second. I thought it was a close fight but had Bendo edging rounds with more effective striking, higher volume, and by generally stunting Cerrone's offense. I was a little surprised at the decision and judging from the reaction online there are a few people who thought as I did. This loss doesn't really hurt Henderson's career so much as it sets him back another two or so fights. He now has to win at least four fights in a row to get another crack at Pettis. Cerrone should take some time off and come back to face Nurmagomedov.

What's there to say about the main event except that the 11-to-1 favourite looked it. Everything McGregor threw hurt Siver. Nothing Siver threw looked effective since he was mostly on his heels. I thought Herb Dean was a bit quick to stop the fight but it was perhaps merciful. McGregor dashed out of the cage and confronted Aldo afterward but didn't get really heated until there was someone to hold him back. I guess we've got a few months of build-up and I hope both fighters can make it through camp healthy so it will pay off.

McGregor, Larkin, O'Connell/Van Buren took home the bonuses.

If there can be a criticism of McGregor's performance I guess it would be that he failed to check leg kicks. This is not a good omen for a fight with Aldo.

I will rewatch it, I was on the phone for the first round. Bendo was active, but I think Cerrone landed more meaningful power shots. Towards the end, Bendo landed a nice high kick and a couple nice knees but for the most part, I don't remember anything else that substantial.

Could have went either way b

Looks close except for the leg kicks/jabs that Bendo landed.

I think the reactions of Cowboy/Bendo to the decision were most telling.

I don't think this is a Sanchez/Pearson type of decision, I just think it went the wrong way.

Even Cowboy questioned the decision with the indecisive interview with Rogan post-fight. It was a close fight but I think Bendo should have got the nod.

As for the main event, did anyone think that Siver stood a shot against McGregor? As much as I like the Irish "Ali", I hope Aldo knocks him down a few spots.

^ Sean Spencer says he's getting his win money as well since the decision was so controversial.
