I got my hands on the demo :]

You can play as Chuck and Rua.

I played about 15 matches. About 10 with Chuck, 5 with Rua.

There is a LOT to learn. I mean...A LOT.

It is actually a lot more fluid than I thought it would be. Its' fun, definitely a party game. If your a striker (Chuck) you will outlast Rua on the feet. The ground game is fun, I'm just getting the hang of it. I can't submit Rua to save my life. I tried a Guillotine, Arm bar, Knee bar.

Flash KO's are fun. Ground and pound is also very fun. I broke out of Rua's armbar attempt.

If you want to know how to burn your own copy of the demo, let me know and I'll post the tutorial thread. If not, it comes out this week.

I'll definitely explore it more later and get a hang of the ground game more. I kept taking Rua down in my later matches to get used to the ground.

Speeds, I think you might be a little surprised. I think it is a damn good fighting game.

Bumped the difficulty up and let me just say...don't get taken down by Rua. Holy shit. I did the tutorial, but it is going to take a while to learn the ground game.

I kept it standing in a match with him and eventually KO'd him.

I don't have Live so I'm waiting a few weeks to play this, I guess. Sounds good so far, Mamba.

So far, its beaten my expectations. The movements are pretty fluid. I think the ground movements will be much more fluid once I learn the controls.

    Re: UFC Undisputed 2009

Got my hands on this today and I probably spent a good 4-5 hours playing it. It's a very, very fun game. It's been impossible for me to sub Chuck, even on the lowest difficulty, I've done well with the striking though and Shogun's dreaded clinch game had served me well.

Also what UFC game would be complete with out a Goldberg gaff, he calls Shogun "Murilo" in one of the comments.

I've been getting into the ground game lately. I'm starting on the lowest difficulty and getting the basics down before I move on to the next difficulty. Striking is easy. I've turned Chuck into an expert boxer. I'm getting the GNP and transitions down.

That Muay Thai clinch is fucking bad ass. I fucked Chuck's shit up with it. I'm going to try and sub him now.

Subbing people is impossible. I dont know if its that iam not pressing the buttons fast enough or not pressing them in the right sequence.

    I did it!

    I Kimura'd Chuck!

I think it is almost time to move to the next difficulty.

    Re: UFC Undisputed 2009

I am playing on the easiest difficulty so I can get a hang of the game, so this is how I'm doing it.

I start the first half of the 1st round on the feet and I try to hammer chuck. Muay Thai clinch, kicks, punches in bunches, then I clinch and get him into my guard, I pull rubber guard and then transition to back control. I land knees until he's dazed, then I stop attacking. Repeat.

Basically, you have to beat the shit out of him without KOing him, once you get the sub attempt by clicking RS, yeah I pound the Y button really fast. It is easiest for me.

    Re: UFC Undisputed 2009

I tried your method and it worked, I was able to sub Chuck twice. Kimura and Knee bar seems to be the most common submissions for me. I gotta work on doing rubber guard and other transitions.

I haven't been able to get a knee bar.

I'm trying to do a knee bar and a triangle choke. I'll get to that later.

I stickied this speeds, if you want to undue it, go ahead. I just figured with the game now less than a month out, this topic will be busy. If you guys have gamer tags for Xbox post em up and I'll edit the original post. I have to decide if I'm going to renew my XBOX Live tag. I'll post mine up if I decide to.

    Re: UFC Undisputed 2009

I decided to move the difficulty up to the next level. The sophomore level (not labeled that, but basically what it is).

I'm starting it out with Chuck. I'm 2-0. I can't roll with Shogun and be offensive, but I can defend well and get to my feet thank God. I easily outclass him on the stand up. I finally figured out how to get the full mount.

Who do you guys plan on using in the game? For some reason, I never liked creating my own fighter. I'm hoping you can move through career mode with multiple fighters in different weight classes. If not, I'll have a career mode for each class. For LW, I'll probably just use BJ. WW, probably Anthony Johnson. MW - Hendo, LHW - Rampage, HW - Big Nog.

    Re: UFC Undisputed 2009

I have this for the ps3 so no gamer tag for me. I like to create my own guy so I think I'll be doing that for career mode. But in terms of style I think I am gonna go with a guy thats good at wrestling, I love me some ground and pound. But yeah, I am looking forward to playing as everyone in the game.

I think if I do create a guy, I'll make him a kick boxer on the feet and wrestling on the ground.

    Re: UFC Undisputed 2009

I got a chance to play this for about 20mins today. Pretty fun. I was Shogun the whole time. At first I kept getting knocked out because my brother would just mash the punches and I couldn't block them fast enough. Then I figured out how to clinch and had more success. I was able to submit him once by kimura from my guard, but otherwise I had trouble figuring out the ground game. I'll probably buy it when it comes out because I want to see how much faster the lightweights are, etc.. Exceeded my expectations.
