Why in the hell Israel refuses to step up and support Ukraine in this situation is beyond me.

Putin wouldn't dare use nukes. He's nothing but a blustering fool and knows what should and would happen when we retaliated.

That’s what would happen. The US would enter the war. I’m thinking pretty much the entire world would condemn it and Russia would never recover.

Exactly. However, Russia will never recover from this anyway.

Some day in the far distant future Russia will change from all this nonsense.

Hope so. There are things the US needs to change as well.

Yes, but it won't be Russia. It'll be many smaller countries.

It's hard to see the distant future. It takes all my mighty brain power to see that much.

It's the natural progression of things. When a nation fails it splinters into smaller parts. Like the Soviet Union. And China soon.

From what I understand it has to do with Syria. Russia control Syrian airspace and allows Israel to do strikes there against groups that are threats to Israel.

Despite protests, the mobilization seems to have met it's goals in all regions of russia. 300,000 new recruits, many being sent to the front without training. The second mobilization will be tougher. By then I think Ukraine will have killed another 50-80, 000 and people will have more time to organize.

Day 215. More than 40 settlements were affected by enemy fire, including Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Odesa. Iranian drones attack the Dnipro and Odesa. Sham referendums are held in the occupied territories. Mobilized Russian men arrive at military bases. Protests against forced mobilization continue in Russia. In Dagestan, the protests are gaining momentum. 2.500 Ukrainians are in Russian captivity, including civilians and many women. The 8th package of EU sanctions might not include the restriction of oil prices.

So they sent in the national guard? In the United States the national guard is kind of a weekend warrior group that has some that are specialists in certain areas but hardly the stellar fighting force you want to deploy heavily. Very few in the national guard have the stomach for combat.

Pretty similar but USA national guard has regular trainings. From what I have read most of these guys have not had any training for years. And they are not taking complete units but just throwing different individuals together.

The US National Guard units do indeed train once a year. They are supposed to stay up to speed at least a bit. Some are good I’m sure.

It may be because I have 3 immediate family members in the National Guard in full time positions, or because I've have many family members in; combat readiness, combat zones, or activated during my life life, but I feel a little disappointed in your responses here. We can talk about this in pm if you'd like.

You are right, every guardsmen or guardswomen's contract (generally) is 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks annual training a year. They serve more than that.

Edit to update my gendering of anyone. Was not intentional. I've also had gaurdswomen in my family.
