This talk about Rondo not having been good - let alone great - is fucking silly. I believe for the two seasons after they broke up "the big 3" he still lead the league in assists, or was a very close second behind Nash. Yet unlike Nash Rondo was great on the defensive end too. That makes him twice as good as Nash ever was! So if Rondo wasn't good, then Nash was terrible.
I'd be tempted to take a completely healthy Bosh over any PF in the league other than Ant Davis. Great defender, solid rebounder, willing to play C, good passer, great range... He's getting a little old, so I'll revise and say 2 or 3 years ago he would be my pick.
Based on a comment this morning, @Taylor Danforth agrees with you, Strenuus. Does that make you rethink your stance?
I find myself vascilating between believing we will contend for a playoff spot or maybe we flirt with a .500 record all season. Even if we lost Dame for an extended period due to injury, I can't see us as the 2nd worst team in the league, which Mark Stein predicted a few weeks ago. Too much athleticism and depth to end up a 20 something win team.
Everyone is going to underestimate us because we lost 4 starters. We replaced them with more depth though. People will be very surprised.

Damn ya nitpicker! Yeah, I thought so, but didn't care to look it up to get my point out, which is still the same point.
He basically was just saying that pro-bowl and all-star game selections mean nothing, but specifically said, "10 All-star games? Who cares? That means nothing."
Here's a related question that's realistic: Are we better than last season's team post-Wes injury? That team went 10-12 to close out the season. That's 37-45 over an 82-game season. How do you feel about 37.5 being our over/under? Do you take the over on that?
Not on that 10-month-old list: 9 months ago against his old team in Boston, Rondo had 29 points, shooting 12-19, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Many of his high-stat games were in high-minute games. He was an ironman, but his stats per minute were ordinary.
