Nobody in my high school got a DUI when I was there, nobody, and a ton of kids there drank on weekends. Look at all the grandparents and parents, they drank when they were younger, for a majority of people it's a fun little phase and nothing more.</div>Wow, nobody got a DUI while you were there. Congrats? You put people's lives at risk by drinking and driving. You take the inexperience of teen drivers, the cockiness and then add booze to that and you are sure going to make one hell of a mixture.Kids should not drink and they should not smoke (but smoking is nasty no matter how old). I don't care if I sound like your mother or not, teenagers should not drink because they are more likely to drink and drive. Just because you weren't caught doesn't mean you didn't do it and you didn't risk your life and other people's lives. I drive on the same road as these people, buddy, I don't want to have some <Censored> <Censored> teenager who thinks it's cool to drink driving around on neighborhood roads and interstates. It's flat out dangerous and deadly.
How is it a little problem?Drinking is an addiction that should be stopped for underage people and for olderage people, as well.I'm Muslim, so Muslims don't drink anyway, but still, it's bad for your health. And hey, I've heard stories when teens get drunk and somebody ended up dying, and kids going to the hospital.I saw a teen who was with two 2-liter bottles of beer, which I saw inside the car, and he was arrested.Read that short story...http://www.themodernreligion.com/misc/booz...hol_tragedy.htm"O you who believe, intoxicants, and gambling, and the altars of idols, and the games of chance are abominations of the devil; you shall avoid them, that you may succeed." 5:90
I don't support it at all, because whether you like it or not Drinking is bad for your heatlh - people will say: "well thats only if you drink a lot." A lot of people, especially teens can't control themselves when they're drunk. You start off with a couple drinks - yes, its not a big deal, than you get a couple more - ok you're a little drunk now - than you get some more, now you're pretty drunk, and no you will not be able to control yourself. The fact is, that drinking is something I will not do, or anyone else should do - because why would you do something bad for your health - its somethning that can kill you when done excessively. Btw, most teens dont go to bars to get alcohol, it is usually bought by someone older and they have no limits. BCB, i can hardly believe that no one at your high school get a DUI, that is unbelievable. At my school 15 ppl got DUI's for getting drunk at a school assembly. Also, I have seen it myself - kids get alcohol and drink it like crazy till half of them are passed out. not good at all.To me, if given by a parent, taht parent is irresponsible, but thats my view on it. I can see why people say if the parents give it to their kid its not a big deal because they'll be watching them - but I dont support the whole drinking thing anyway whether it be a little bit or a lot.

I dont really care, I do it personally and most of the people I know do, too..Its more of a social thing just hang out and drink..I dont think its a big deal as long as you dont drive obviously..Beer Pong? Yeaaah..

I'm sorry, but if you think it is a little problem now you must be crazy. If you legalize it for minors you'll only be making the problem worse because it will be easier for minors to get their hands on alcohol. If you lower the age for drinking you'd have raise the age for driving.
Theres a big difference between drinking and drinking and driving...Im 100% against drinking and driving, but I have no problem with just drinking as long as your not going over your limit..

Thats why keys should be taken away before you drink anything..Its that simple if you drink you should never drive no matter what..Other than that I have absolutely no problem with it..

You can't. It's much easier to enforce no alcohol at all until you are 21 than it is to have every minor turn in his keys before he has a drink. How do you plan on going about doing that?Just face it, most teenagers are not capable of fully thinking out a situation and it's implications. I don't care if you wouldn't do it or if your friends wouldn't do it, the fact is many do and it's a problem. Live with it, enjoy your childhood and when you turn 21 you can drink until you pass out for all I care.
See this whole limit thing is stupid, because no one truely knows their limit - and if you do, than you have some pretty good self-control. I can't say this from personal experience, but I can say that (from seeing others do it) it is almost impossible to stop yourself from drinking when you are drunk and have a bottle of vodka or w/e you got open in front of you. By the way - if you guys know what the prohabition was - it basically banned alcohol totally. Because of this, there was illegal things going on with the selling of alcohol. It's like what marijuana is now, you know so many people who do it, and you can get weed yourself very easily if you wanted to. Thats basically how it was back then - lots of illegal activity, but it was obviously going on - and people got a thrill from doing stuff illegaly. If you look at countries that allow drinking and marijuana at a younger age, you'll see that, yes, it is prevalent, but it isn't abused. So, basically, I think taht making the legal drinking age higher woould be a stupid move on the parts of politicians. I actually think marijuana should be legalized becasue it'll only make it a less used drug, and people wont use it just so they can be cool or w/e. Kind of like in canada.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Thats why keys should be taken away before you drink anything..Its that simple if you drink you should never drive no matter what..Other than that I have absolutely no problem with it..</div>But how to you expect people to get home? The problem is not with just drinking and driving, when your drunk you have little to no motor functions. Walking home can be as dangerous for the person as driving drunk. We had 4 incidents at our University in a span of 3 years of kids getting hit by a train while walking home late at night after a party. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Live with it, enjoy your childhood and when you turn 21 you can drink until you pass out for all I care.</div>Are saying people at 21 are mature enough as well?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>See this whole limit thing is stupid, because no one truely knows their limit</div>Agree, some people can get drunk after a beer, while others can go for 5-6. I don't see much positives from drinking.
I've underage drank before without parents knowledge. You just need to set your limits. But I see no problem with it, if the parents approve of it.
I'm not saying everyone at the age of 21 is mature enough, but it's the law and if you are 21 you can drink your brains out. If you say you are responsible enough to drink at age 16 or whatever then you should be more than ready at age 21.
Underage kids have been drinking in this country and around the world for hundreds of years and you guys are acting like everytime you have a beer underage a baby gets thrown from the empire state building.

You cannot. Plus, not everyone drinks at parties. You can drink at your home all by yourself or at some other place. I know you are smarter than that, you can't simply just give up your keys everytime you drink. It's a smart move, by all means, but it's absoutely impossible to enforce.
