No way we clear enough space to sign someone to a even a meyers contract without giving away 1sts to unload the space.
Other FAs I like: Ty Lawson Mike Muscala Gerald Green Sergio Shelvin Mack Trey Burke Shabazz Muhammed Zach Randolph Jeff Green James Johnson
We might make do with a one-way player who's simply a stud on defense. If he can make an occasional three, it's a plus. OK So S&T is possible, like I said.
Otto. Porter. He'll get the max this summer. Slowly becoming an elite role player. He does a bit of everything and is extremely efficient on the offensive end. Think of him as a rich mans Thabo Sefolosha. He's a player I'd package the picks for.
I'd love to have Porter too, but why would WAS trade him. They won't be under the cap, so they would have to take back equivalent salary in a trade. If I was WAS (or POR or anyone else), I'd rather have Porter at $21 million a year than Allen Crabbe at $19 million and a couple draft picks. BNM
Having Smart to backup Dame would be a blessing. And he is a really good passer that is being often badly used as a spot shooter on offense. As for his D its game changing.
Holiday would be a great 3rd guard. Good defender, good offensive player, 6'4 so he could hypothetically play SG next to Dame. MCW is trash offensively. Absolute trash. Kelly Olynyk would be a great backup C but he's unavailable. Robinson? He hurts teams on both ends of the floor. Undersized 4 who can't defend with D-League C skills... Withey is a decent defensive C who would be a cheap backup option. Is he a FA? I'm not sure.
I wish we could get Crowder somehow, but I don't see a reason Boston would trade him. He would be perfect for us though.
Ty Lawson? So he can kill a Portlander with his drunk driving? He's a horrible defender too. Pass. Gerald Green, Trey Burke, Shabazz Muhammed, Jeff Green and Sergio Rondriguez are all horrible defenders. They average a -3.0 DBPM among them. Shelvin Mack is bad offensively. 51 TS%. Can't shoot. Isn't a plus defender. I specifically said two-way players in the thread title, and it's funny that you come in here with a list of some of the worst defenders in the league. Since you know more than everybody on this board I figure you could come up with two-way players. I wouldn't be as harsh about it if you didn't say that. You really shouldn't come on a forum and say you know more than everyone then try to sell them all on Cleanthony Early and Greg Oden. Not the best move.
JaMychal Green. He's a FA and he averages more rebounds/48 than any Trail Blazer http://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/2327577/jamychal-green
